Billy-Bo-Jim-Bob 19
Anyone move from DG S300 or X100 into $-Taper 120? What's your experience? RickyBobby_PR 9,248
Feel is subjective but $ taper felt softer while maintaining stability. Spin will change somewhat with them and the amount will be dependent on head. In titleist they played similar for me but with pxg Gen2 0311 t and original p790 spin was higher i like the $ taper in the right head. A good friend of mine loves it and won’t play any other shaft and he’s used in titleist twice, cobra mb and now in p7mb and 7mc Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1

Interesting that same shaft produced 800 more revs in the P7MC, so yes, head does make a difference. I’m the woods aome if they counterbalance shafts do well for me across multiple brands. The Nippon 120s are a shaft ive seen be able to stay pretty close between various irons heads and pretty much has become my go to shaft. Also one that both the titleist and pxg fitters I did online fittings with say they out a lot of people in Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1
vagabon68 84
I use $ taper lite and it’s an awesome shaft with my Sub70 639’s. Nice high ball flight and good spin. These will be the ones I stick with from now on.
Hoyoymac 287
I switched from KBS Tour V 110 g Stiff to KBS $-Taper 120g Stiff a few weeks ago and have found that my shot shape, trajectory and dispersion all have improved with little to no change in distance. I am very happy with the change. The spin is also very good. Still playing the KBS Tour V 125g wedge shafts. 1 Quote Ping G410 LST 10.5 Taylormade SIM Ti - 19 lofted down to 17 Tour Edge XCG7 - 21 Tour Edge C721 - 25 Corey Paul - 5-PW Japan Forged Minimalist Blades Corey Paul Functional Art 50, 54 & 58 Odyssey O Works Black #7 with BGT Stability Tour Shaft, SuperStroke Traxion 3.0 & 75g CounterCore Bridgestone Tour BRX
kgglonghorn 8
I went from X100 to $ taper 125 and I won't go back. Just for grins, I ordered a new set with X100's and after three rounds, sold them and just ordered a new set of irons with the $ Tapers again. Not soft like the Nippons were and I am able to control trjectroy and move the ball both ways without issue. I would call them buttery but stable.
Billy-Bo-Jim-Bob 19
I went w the 921’s with the $taper 120’s. Now I have to decide what to do with the shafts in my 54 x100 and 58 s400 sm8’s. Won’t change those until the spring but thinking to go a bit lighter and softer. kgglonghorn 8
a little lighter and a little softer seems to be the trend. I am in S400s today but also looking for something a little lighter and softer
