In For Review: Adams Speedline Fast 12 Fairway

Hey guys...in what amounts to the closest thing to a Christmas gift of any consequence I'm likely to receive this year, a box from Adams Golf was dropped off. Inside I found a couple of their new Fast 12 Fairway Woods.

Just like the past couple of iterations, the Fast 12 features Adams's Velocity Slot technology. Unlike TaylorMade, Adams place a slot on both the sole and crown, so it will be interesting to see what the distinction is there. Like TaylorMade Adams has moved away from the classic black crown instead moving to a matte silver. It's not pure white like we've seen from TM. It's a bit like the finish on the Mashie hybrid, although certainly lighter, and without the speckled appearance.

The shaft is the new Graffaloy ProLaunch Blue with Speed Coat Technology. Here are the pics. As always, let us know what you think.

I would love to see an MGS Lab about the actual gains to be had from using a shaft with speed-enhancing paint.

Back on topic: club looks good. I've seen the slot for so long now that I'm not really bothered by it anymore. I don't know that I care for the silver, but it's not a deal breaker. I'll be curious to see how it performs. Head to head testing with the ROCKETBALLZ? Probably not, but I can hope.

...Head to head testing with the ROCKETBALLZ?...

I would like to see this as well.

Would it be stock vs. stock, or what about reshafting both heads into the same shaft.

I say stock vs stock comparison. Supposedly shafts are tuned to the heads. In an ideal world, anyway.

Agreed. The best testing is "the way TM puts it out of the factory vs. the way Adams puts it out of the factory." It's also the most beneficial for the consumer, most of whom will/do not reshaft their clubs.
