MGS Sourced Ball Fitting - you decide

Okay, Driver Day. And with some more data. As I am working on this right now, I am finding that the export feature of the software drops about half the data points.... So from now on I will just screen capture the data. I did a screen cap of some shots with Ball #1, but didn't for the other two as I thought the export sheet would include it all.... Pick whichever you think the "best" performing ball of the batch is and I'll carry in into the next round.

My two cents would be ball #3, I know you didn't carry it as far but your dispersion was tighter than the other two and if you can get the efficiency up, I think it'll get out there.

I vote ball one. Good spin numbers. Driver dispersion fine, playable spin. Nice wedge spin, although not needed in PNW unless you play Pumpkin, the reserve, Quail Valley.  Also I think that’s TPX5

Ball 1 was well ahead starting with the wedge and ran away with it through the next two.

It's as if three isn't even same category of ball.

Ball 1 all day every day here.

Must be a Bridgestone or Srixon.

Bridgestone BX, Bridgestone BXS, Callaway Chrome Soft X, Callaway Chrome soft X LS, Vice Pro, Taylormade TP5X, Maxfli Tour, Srixon Z-Star and maybe a ProV1. 

So, that is the plan. 

Interesting and absolutely waiting for your data. Just one note I saw, most of the balls are X marked , why Srixon Z-Star and ProV1 and not Srixon XV and ProV1-X?

I shot last years best round and this years best round with a Velocity... this years with a matte finish orange (did you hear that @Tony Covey MGS)?   Just throwing that out there for what its worth .  I don't typically use that ball but have several, and one seems to find its way into my pre-round practice ball cache.  Occasionally I just opt to put one in play.

Did anyone say Ball #1 is the Chrome soft X? it looks like it would spin higher than everything else?

You already said that Ball #2 is the BX..

Ball #3- Vice Pro or maybe Z Star? yeah I know, cheater but I like to think of it as hedging my bet... haha

As you said that your driver spin and launch/flight #s are most important, I vote ball #1. I don't think dispersion is all that different and likely due just to natural swing variation. Better spin numbers with the irons/wedges too, I think that #1 could hold a few more GIRs on approach shots depending on your play style. I'll come back for my final guesses for #1 and #3!

I thought #1 was originally the CS X but I think that wasn't the case!

The Vice Pro, Bridgestone BXS, Maxfli Tour, Pro V1 and Srixon Z-star make up my non X testing group.  So actually I think I'm testing less X versions. This wasn't a conscious choice, just looked at the 2021 Ball test and the ball labs to pick some balls that I wanted to try. I might add a few more, @fixyurdivotreally wants a Velocity in this test. Not sure I can find a matte orange one. But I can try.

Count me in on #1 if not already... I like the higher spins on 7 & W... the driver difference is nill. Too hard on the other numbers but pretty close IMHOP.

I noticed in your signature being D7 forged irons- so your are a little stronger (normal nowadays), so you need all the spin you can get with a ball without detriment to your driver. Also the driver at 12*- you are getting good numbers for spin regardless...

 Am a ball 1 vote but I think any of them would be equally playable.   My guess on balls is:

1. chromesoft x
2. You told us Bridgestone x
3. maxfli Tour

I would agree with this right now. None of them had numbers that would scare me from using them.

So going through it, I think Ball 1 would be my choice, and I think it is... A Callaway Chrome Soft X LS

Ball 2 being BX is close to what I would have thought, a solid performer throughout the bag

Ball 3 is a touch confusing for me and I think it's one of the softer balls of the bunch, I'm going... Good ol' Pro V1

WOW, thats a surprise on #3! Like you had said, none of the balls gave you #s that would scare you from gaming but if you had to pick one I thought you could make a good argument that the X LS was the best!

I wanted to let you know that I have made a small format change to this, mostly because you all are too smart.

I will not be hitting the CSXLS in the next round, I will use 3 new untested balls.

The CSXLS will be moving into the Semi-Finals. I will continue this testing process with 3 balls for 3 more rounds. Testing 12 total balls. That testing will find 4 group winners. I will then match those group winners up 1v1 in the semi finals, to get me to the final 2 balls to rule them all. 

Balls still to test: Maxfli Tour, Srixon Z-Star, TP5x, ProV1, Vice Pro, CSX, Velocity( @fixyurdivot), ....... 2x?

So, to take my bias out a little more, Im going to add the 2 more suggested balls to the test. So whatever else you think I should test, let me know and I will take the 2 top suggestions and put them in too(assuming I can get them easily enough). Q-Star? ProV1x? Wilson Duo? Dunlop Power TI explosion mach V laser bomb? 

So 6 more rounds to crown a winner, fill out your brackets now, this might take the world by storm and replace March Madness as the best bracket contest out there.

Also, I have a sleeve each of the losing BX and BXS to send out. If you would like either sleeve, chime in. I'll use some random wizardry to see who gets them.

Happy Thanksgiving as well... this is definitely entertaining and always learn something... That BX reacting that way was definitely a surprise!

Eat- Be Merry and put those numbers up over the weekend, shows how everyone's unique swings adds a different perspective on how balls react.

I personally was only thinking of 3 balls- Pro V, Maxfli Tour and the AVX but may have to try a couple of different balls for the year.
