I think on a different couple of days, the numbers might have just as easily been switched around and ball #2 would've been my pick. They're ridiculously similar balls. It wouldn't surprise me at all if #2 was the Maxfli and #1 was the Z-Star. With your wedge and 7i swings, I looked at the 'outlier' swings to see how the ball did when you weren't delivering exactly the same and ball #1 seemed to give more consistent results. When the ball speed jumps, ball #2 turns into a rocket whereas ball #1 seems to give you about the same yardage. At least for my game, there's nothing worse than making an exceptionally good swing, catching it really pure, and the ball suddenly gains 15 yards (which is part of why I love my ZX7 irons so much; no more "heaters") Thin2win 1 Quote Driver: ZX5 LS MkII 9.5* (@ 9.0*) with 46.5" Ventus Blue 6X 3-wood: SIM 15* with Diamana Limited 75S 5-wood: RADspeed 18.5* with Motore X F3 60S 2i: ZX with SteelFiber i95 Stiff 4hy: TS3 23* with Tensei AV Blue 70 S 4i-7i ZX7, 8i-PW Z-Forged, Modus3 Tour 120 S 50*, 55* RTX 6 Modus3 Tour 125 60* RTX Full Face ZipCore DG Spinner S400 Putter: Toulon Chicago with a Quad Tour or HB SOFT Milled 10.5S with UST All-in Ball: Chrome Tour (but I might still have some Left Dashes hanging around) Bag: Ltd Edition Tartan, blue/green/yellow Using to keep track of my shots Tested: D7 Forged 3i-PW, KBS Tour-V 110S - Official Review Blind Ball Test (Ball #3 vs Ball #4) - Unofficial Review V3 GPS Watch + Tags - Official Review Vero X2 - Official Review The Stack System - Official Review

John Appleseed
LOL of course you think they're all ridiculously similar, you're only measuring initial launch conditions which are piped into Foresight's ball model. The flight of these golf balls are drastically different once you consider their aerodynamic properties, which you cannot measure indoors. Londo
Throwing out something slightly different: 1. Maxfli Tour CG 2. Srixon Z Star XV 3. Titleist Velocity #1 is the winner for me, I think it had the most balanced performance and value the higher spin numbers off the wedges and slightly more penetrating driver flight. Thin2win
OKay, not much in round 2. Ball #1 looks like the slight winner, and this is what I find really impressive and unexpected. It is the Srixon Z-Star XV, but that means ball #3 was the Titleist Velocity, and honestly I was super impressed by its performance. It launched noticeably higher. It hit a foot above the other two balls on my hitting screen. The spin on the short shots around the green was noticeably lower, but definitely playable if the bump and run was the plan. 7i and driver numbers were very respectable for the Velocity as well. I'd say that for me, the numbers on the driver were even better then those for the Maxfli. So a very close 2nd place finish for @fixyurdivot 's beloved Velocity. It preformed much better than I thought it would. I'm not going to even hide round #3, it is going to be some title favorites. The short game performance tipped off that #3 was probably an ionomer cover, but it's fascinating to see how the engineers still achieve stopping power by increasing the trajectory, thus increasing the descent angle. The difference (albeit calculated and not measured) between carry and total yielded absolutely no clues, which is a hat-tip to the ball design. If you can't spin em, launch em? I haven't played the Velocity a ton (if I'm going ionomer, I would game the TruFeel) but it's definitely no slouch, especially for guys who aren't really trying to control spin around the green.
