Splitting hairs. I think on a different couple of days, the numbers might have just as easily been switched around and ball #2 would've been my pick. They're ridiculously similar balls. It wouldn't surprise me at all if #2 was the Maxfli and #1 was the Z-Star. With your wedge and 7i swings, I looked at the 'outlier' swings to see how the ball did when you weren't delivering exactly the same and ball #1 seemed to give more consistent results. When the ball speed jumps, ball #2 turns into a rocket whereas ball #1 seems to give you about the same yardage. At least for my game, there's nothing worse than making an exceptionally good swing, catching it really pure, and the ball suddenly gains 15 yards (which is part of why I love my ZX7 irons so much; no more "heaters")

LOL of course you think they're all ridiculously similar, you're only measuring initial launch conditions which are piped into Foresight's ball model.

The flight of these golf balls are drastically different once you consider their aerodynamic properties, which you cannot measure indoors.

Talk about a buzz-kill 🤣.  So you're saying Chris should pack up the GC3 system and ship it down to me where I can repeat the tests outdoors in the sunshine?

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Throwing out something slightly different:

1. Maxfli Tour CG

2. Srixon Z Star XV

3. Titleist Velocity

#1 is the winner for me, I think it had the most balanced performance and value the higher spin numbers off the wedges and slightly more penetrating driver flight.

Only 3 votes in for rd2.

Ball 1 with 2 votes, and ball 3 with 1 vote.

I'll agree with the 3 so far, ball #2 spun too much on drives for me to want to put it in play. I'll see if any more votes come in.

FYI, the eliminated ball #2, Maxfli Tour CG.

OKay, not much in round 2.

Ball #1 looks like the slight winner, and this is what I find really impressive and unexpected. It is the Srixon Z-Star XV, but that means ball #3 was the Titleist Velocity, and honestly I was super impressed by its performance. It launched noticeably higher. It hit a foot above the other two balls on my hitting screen. The spin on the short shots around the green was noticeably lower, but definitely playable if the bump and run was the plan.

7i and driver numbers were very respectable for the Velocity as well. I'd say that for me, the numbers on the driver were even better then those for the Maxfli.

So a very close 2nd place finish for @fixyurdivot 's beloved Velocity. It preformed much better than I thought it would.

I'm not going to even hide round #3, it is going to be some title favorites. I'm to put the ball I've been gaming for the last year up against the ball that I was testing this fall vs the ball of all balls. Vice Pro, vs TP5x vs ProV1.

The BX and Maxfli were two that have been on my list of 'balls I've yet to try,' so i'd gladly take a BX and/or a Maxfli now that they've been eliminated 😄

The short game performance tipped off that #3 was probably an ionomer cover, but it's fascinating to see how the engineers still achieve stopping power by increasing the trajectory, thus increasing the descent angle. The difference (albeit calculated and not measured) between carry and total yielded absolutely no clues, which is a hat-tip to the ball design. If you can't spin em, launch em? I haven't played the Velocity a ton (if I'm going ionomer, I would game the TruFeel) but it's definitely no slouch, especially for guys who aren't really trying to control spin around the green.

That was probably the tipping point for me in making my call for Ball 1 Greg, but yeah, Titleist knows how to engineer those balls to do what it is they say they do. Very intrigued here by round 3, two balls competing to be theeee ball and one of the better DTC brands to try and knock them off that perch

Biggest takeaway, the ProV1 launches noticeably lower. Not good or bad, just that was the biggest thing that I noticed.

Other thing worth noticing, smallest variance for the wedge spin is the 5X. Looking at all the numbers right now, I'd say that's my early vote, but long way to go.

I'm sure the biggest variance is my swing 😂

I noted but I was looking at the grouping for the Pro V1, it does look a tiny bit tighter than the other two. Could just be swing like Chris said but I think I like that grouping a bit more than the std dev on spin #s!

Another thing to note that is hard to see in the raw numbers, but the Vice stopped noticeably faster. About half the roll out of the other two on average. So they all have something going for them in the short game area.

Yeah, I don't think so.  These numbers look so good their suspicious.  The Vice Pro is certainly looking favorable.

7i data? who cares 😆 Lets see some drivers. Again, I was "trying" to hit a cut... I seemed to struggle with that today. But here is the data.

For whatever reason, I could only hit a small draw with the prov1, I don't think it was ball related.

I had no issue hitting the cut I was trying to hit with the TP5x258162253_tp5xflight.PNG.ab1b6bfd8d92d985d4a2e7dd09c8aaa8.PNG

fade or not... I think there is a winner here. What do you all say?

Maybe I will be in the minority,  but I am leaning toward the Vice Pro.   Pretty close with the V1,  but I think that one driver swing really skews the data.  I like the higher launch which I think works better at your swing speed.  Wedges were pretty much equal.
