I'm with ya, I 100% support and believe in what they are doing. I am blown away by all the ball testing and the data that we get from it. The club tests are fun to follow but I have the ability to get a quality fit when I purchase gear so I go in with a clean slate and do my own tests there. Ball testing though has been something I've always had to do myself which meant buying different balls until I found one that did what I wanted and then using a launch monitor to check results. The ball tests they've done have been invaluable to me and are very appreciated! 

Side note, have you played Falcon Pointe or Chatata Valley? I've been thinking about swinging by to play one when I'm in Cleveland but have never made the time to do it.

I play Chatata Valley regularly, it's about 10 minutes from the house and they have the only driving range in the area. I really enjoy it.

As far as Falcon Pointe, I haven't played it since it reopened. Tried to get in there once, but they weren't the most accommodating to booking a single. I like the course, it has a special place in my heart because because it's where I learned to play. Their greens look fantastic since they got new people to run it. Driving by, it looks like the fairways still need a bit of time to get right.

If you're ever in the area, give me a shout and we can get a round in.

Yes, they send an email.  I've only heard one name that is one I see on the forum... but then so many don't use their actual names.

Well, once again no joy for me in the annual raffle.  But what a great deal for Adam & Co. to do as thanks to everyone who supports MGS .  Sure hope any of our forum regulars who won will post about it and show off the winnings. Also, was it me or did I keep hearing @cnosilin the background beating balls into the screen... maybe with that currently in test "fastest ball speed" driver? .

I can't agree more, I think it's great they do this every year and give back to donors.

I was done with my session before the video started,  but I hit a few drivers after my session and if you go watch the youtube video the first 2 club strikes you hear were from me using a driver from a company with the initials TM.

I was there for him hitting those drives.    I was just to the right of the desk they were using;  and was rolling some putts with some of the putters that are in for testing.

There is/was a storage locker with lots of old equipment.  Also above the two offices is a loft that holds a lot of equipment for the current year.  I don't know all the deals they have with the various OEMs, but some equipment is kept by MGS (generally the winners),  some is given to the testers (Adam is very generous with the testers),  some is returned to the manufacturer, some is donated to places like the first tee, some become prizes for forum contests,  and some is given out during the donor raffle.

I watched on YT and only recognized two names amongst the tons of chatter and last minute donations. The guess how far Harry drives it contest was a fun twist.

I guess a lot of the tested equipment has to be returned. It must be more than I thought since they only had 20 items and well over a thousand donors. I haven't seen non club related things like golf bags, travel bags, and such given away. I'm just assuming based on what I saw that there are more returns than I thought there would be.

To be clear I am not complaining about not winning anything.  I am just curious about how we know if we are in the donor pool.  Was there an emailed list I missed?  I notice many of you have Donor listed under your screen names but I have donated a couple of time this year and received a thank you email at the times.  Yet have no donor tag.  

I don't donate to get credit and I don't need to win anything.  I donate because I have been on the spy for over 10 years and love the info.   I had to rejoin when my laptop was stolen and I couldn't remember my login/password after several years of having it saved and changing my email.  I have been a supporter of The Spy since the tests were of a single club at a time and a scores could be looked at with shot dispersions for each of the 6 testers, with there swing speeds listed for our comparison.   

I love the site and would hate to think some of your followers may get mad because they don't know if their in the drawing for these incredible and generous giveaways even though they donated.  You are incredible Datacrats and I would think it would be easy to apply a number to each donor and send it in the thank you email. 

That said I think it would be a very good fund raising opportunity to put these items up for ebay-like auctions after each testing period.  You could make being a donor a requirement to enter a bid.  It would regenerate some of the cash needed to bring in some of the non-donated test gear.

A few of the soft goods were given away at the tester party, but I do seen them pack up a lot of that type of gear and send it back.

The donor tag and the MGS donor giveaway are kind of separate.  to get a donor tag send one of the moderators your transaction code and they will add a donor tag to your forum profile;  there is no way to connect your profile to your actual donation with this.    MGS headquarters can actually pull the list of donors for this year and that is what they use for the donor raffle and can confirm that it isn't related to having a donor tag.

I'm following in your footsteps - 5 years and no wins. On the other hand I've been an Official Tester 3 times - so I guess you can call that a big win.
