Apparently they are actually enforcing the county rule about proof of vaccination on top of the masks. I hate traveling sometimes. At least my hotel had enough equipment that I was able to get some form of a workout in but it was frustrating. I have to remind myself to focus on the form above the weight most of the time. It's interesting to me how a small amount of focus on the form can really change what muscles are being hit. I have the nutrition side down pretty well. Sleep on the other hand... As I am told frequently, trust the process, results come from consistency. Goober
One of the most overlooked things for guys who love lifting is cardio. I’ve really witnessed some great results from people who did intermittent sprinting. That really gets that heart going and seems to get the body into that confused fight or flight stasis. But the dedication too do that on a cardio machine after or before a workout really takes some soul searching JerryB

RichL85
Trainer swapped my workouts again. Similar movements but added in some different variations to keep things new. Been a rough week or two for stress and sleep around home so he took out my HIIT for the week and put in some more LISS. Much easier to navigate the whole process with someone looking out for me. JerryB
@Goober You are not wrong, my friend... I loathe cardio! The other day I tried some sprints and was dying afterwards. Lungs were not having it. Was coughing afterwards and everyone was staring at me. I'm like...Not sick, just badly out of shape!! Been killing it in the lifts recently. Set a squat personal best the other day with a 390 pound double and then the next day I was able to hit some great heavy singles on bench press. Swinging a club seems to have done something to my front shoulder. Since I'm not playing in the winter, I've been able to move it much more freely lately. Something I'm going to have to monitor next season. You seem like you have more of the old school training approach. I agree to an extent that things start in the kitchen. Nobody can out train a bad diet. fixyurdivot
While in AZ, I take advantage of the exercise facility here at the resort. I have a pretty simple routine of weight lifting on one of the mechanical machines (legs and upper body) and do a set of 3. I don't try to set weight records as I don't want to wreck my shoulder. More for tone but I definitely notice the difference after being back home and not doing this routine. I used to jog on the treadmills for cardio, but they frown on folks doing that (maybe they think we're too old? ) So, I ride my mountain bike about 2 miles/day and we walk River (well, we walk, he runs) in the desert, about a mile, twice a day. JerryB
My son has decided to join me in the gym. He's starting from scratch and has some different goals than I do. It's great to have him around in the gym with me; he both keeps me moving and has me trying some different things. Doing a little more cardio and ab work because of him. I've set a number of rep PRs the past few weeks which really has me pumped! Have another cycle or two to go before the weather starts getting better. ole gray
I've been back at my gym for a year now come next month. Minimum three days per week with 25 minutes elliptical to warm up and then hit the machines. I also play golf three days per week and walk (7 miles each time) so I'm in pretty good shape for an ole coot. My goal is simple. Stay around 200 lbs. and keep on keeping on! Goober
Really started hitting the pull-up bar extensively in my workouts. PMookie
My laziness has caught-up to me. Gotta get back to working-out, and changing my diet. Easier said than done, as we all know. Hit the TRX, and then sprints on the stationary bike yesterday. Went too hard, almost lost my lunch!!! I always do this, I think I can do a workout I would’ve done as an in-shape college hooper! RichL85
Trainer switched me up to a split workout, legs/push/pull type of setup. Not sure how I feel on it personally, but I'm down almost 40 pounds since September, so I won't argue with the numbers. Managing my food has likely been the biggest change but the workouts have helped with a lot of those annoying aches I used to have. JerryB
I'd gotten off-track in the past week, but otherwise the past month has been pretty good. I've set some upper body max PRs and my lower body stuff is pretty close, too. I managed to pull 465 on the trap bar deadlift last Thursday and I'm pretty pumped about that! MattF
No going to the gym for us tonight, my son as a large blister that's rubbed raw on his foot. But, I'll be dusting off the Total Gym, because we can do all of the exercises that we do in the gym with that. Set on level 5 we'll get close to the weight we use on the gym machines. JerryB
Been doing the bare minimum at the gym the past few weeks. Just don't have the energy for much more. Went in for deadlifts today and set a rep PR and also managed to tweak my hamstring. A bummer because I really felt great today, too. JFish350
Been a bit, JerryB hope your hammy healed up. a few weeks ago I started getting spasms in my right scapula. Odd place and it sucked. JerryB
Hammy is good, @JFish350, hope you're coming along well, too! Every fourth week is a deload week for me where I cut back and/or try different lifts. This is the week where I skip regular deadlifts and hit the trap bar once or twice. I managed to pull 505lbs today, a new personal best. 500 has always been a goal for regular deadlifts and while I'm not quite there yet, this was a heck of a lift for me and I'm super pumped!!
