The WAY too early Masters 2022 Thread

So, my 7 year old son hands this picture to me this morning.  I hope he’s right.

Doesn't seem likely if he is correct and his son is faster than him right now, but the golf world can dream If 2019 was crazy what would that be. As snow is falling, always good to start thinking of green fairways and hitting the links again.

I don't think it is every too early for a Masters thread. 
My early top 3 will be Morikawa, Hovland and of course Spieth! Gotta love that your kid is into golf @Shankster!

A Masters thread in December.... hmmm .  This immediately has me thinking that Alan is growing increasingly fidgety as the clock ticks towards Friday 12/31... well, that and/or it's snowing in Michigan .

Not that I wouldn't love to see Tiger win, but he is having a hard time with 18 while in a cart. I've never been to Augusta but apparently its a tough walk without playing. He made it clear he won't play on the PGA from a cart.

Yeah.  I’m ready for whatever the Wolverines do.  They did the job that needed to be done.  The commercialism of the playoff system doesn’t appeal to me.  Season was far better than any M fan would have wished for.  Anything from here on out is just bonus…

 

Im in Maryland now, but it did snow here for about 3 seconds today…….

 

Actually thinking about heading out for 3-6 holes next week.  That’s about all I think the elbow can handle.

The Masters has always been my favorite tournament, period.

As for Tiger I’m neutral, neither a fan nor a hater, though for over 10 years (1997-2009?) he was the best player ever. I just hope he doesn’t play before he can show well, I don’t like to see great athletes/sports stars keep playing too far past their prime. Better to go out (somewhat) on top.

Never too early! I reckon it could be Brooks' year - came into last year's Masters after surgery. Usually comes into majors in understated form - taking an early punt on him.

My wife told me she's going to be out of town that weekend...I don't think I did a very good job at hiding how excited I was of having nobody at home while I parked my ass on the couch for four straight days.

I have Spieth, Koepka, and Rahm as frontrunners.  Cantlay is certainly in the conversation based on how he's playing right now too.

No real surprise there. He is on an indefinite leave so it would have been pretty early for him to come back. I'm just happy that the story will be about the masters and hopefully hideki trying to repeat and not the circus it would have been if he had looked to return. I've said it other threads, but I hope if and when he does it is at a smaller event to not take away from the prestige or story of a major or another high profile event.

It will already distract from the tournament. It will be a headline.  Unless Tiger makes his return… we are going to hear about Phil not being there, a lot.

Tiger will not be there to play; maybe not at all though he may attend the dinner.  So, get ready for a lot of "where's Phil", "what's really happening", "we really, really miss Phil dialogue" .
