I just wear layers to keep warm and wear cart gloves between holes with some hot hands.    No changes to equipment;  just take a little more club.

For myself I layer up and typically take a cart with protection from the wind where the sides have plastic covering. I’ve seen other guys use propane heaters within their carts.

I layer up ( 2 long sleeves, a sweater, and vest), and winter golf gloves are a must for me.   My brother and I will walk the first 9, not cold yet get some body heat up, which carries us comfortably through the first 9.  Then we will grab our cart for the second nine to get done a little quicker before the cold can seep in like it seems to if we walk all 18.

Winter typically isn't that bad in my area. An extra layer up top. Maybe a pair of winter golf gloves. But I do switch to a softer ball. Clubs remain the same except for the sand wedge. I switch to one with a thinner sole. The traps get firmer and I'm trying to avoid a bounce off the firmer sand and the resulting skull. It also works better from the dormant fairways.

Everything here ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ except the cart gloves.  Rarely do I get that cold that I need those.  Just a lot of blowing into the hands & maybe wear some winter gloves if it gets bad enough

I will walk to keep the blood flowing. I'll wear long pants nd bring rain pants with to keep the wind out best I can. Top I'll layer more and wear tee shirt, long sleeve, medium weight pull over and a rain jacket. Any more than that and I feel constricted with my swing.

I won't take a cart as its cart path only at most courses around here. That leads to more walking than if I just walk.

No equipment changes for me, I'm not that skilled and to stubborn to not make it work.

Layers, hand warmers and a knit hat.  I use softer balls like chromesoft or noodle or a soft srixon, all that I find in the summer and save in a box.  I keep the clubs in the basement instead of the sporadically heated workshop to keep everything warm.  I keep the hand warmer in my pocket to keep a ball warm and swap on each hole.

I put on a winter base layer (underarmour type shirt), a long sleeve and then a nice 3/4 zip pullover.  I typically don't like too many layers because it really impedes the swing.  The main thing I do differently though is walk.  That way I am constantly moving and often times I may take a layer off.  Full disclosure, I typically run hot anyway and living in Delaware we don't get days that are too bad, I will play in temps in the low 40's, but probably not go below that unless there is a lot of sun and no wind.

I layer up, thin thermals underneath then a quarter zip, thin jacket that's technically for biking but I wear it on the course, and a vest. I'll throw my rain pants on if it's windy occasionally. I'll play in the mid 40's if it's a sunny day, but to be fair I kind of enjoy the offseason sometimes too. I don't feel the need to golf year round. But once February hits I'm usually itching to get out there.

I can do low 40's and still enjoy it but in addition to the sun being out I would really rather low wind conditions as well.

Yeah, I know.....pretty picky and wimpy.....but I can do other exercise stuff outside in cold, cloudy windy conditions without getting frustrated over being too stiff to swing a club!   😆  And if I am desperate to hit a few balls I'll hit them into the net and warm up in front of the stove when necessary!

I agree on the wind conditions as well. I prefer actual course play but I can always stroll to my basement and play a round on the simulator. Perfect lie every time, no divots to hit into, no waiting on the foursome in front of me.  😜  But it's not the same as being out on the course.

Like others here, I rely on layers and gloves, and using an extra club or two. Wind is a big factor in winter for me. I won’t play if it’s below mid 30’s “real feel” starting out. And I won’t play in the rain in winter. I agree walking is preferable in winter as “cart path only” with riding carts results is almost as much walking anyway, can be a PITA. I’ve used the chemical hand warmers occasionally and they help a little, but Fireball or bourbon work better. 😉

As many have said I wear loads of light thin layers so I can take off or put on depending on temperature and wind chill. the layers tend to be mostly short sleeve to keep the weight off my arms and 2 sets of waterproof tops a very light one which suffices 90% of the time and a heavier one for really cold or heavier rain.

I'm located about the same latitude as Ottawa; being in a desert environment, it's hot in the summer (100-115º) but usually temperate in the winter with not much precipitation.  Sometimes we get snow, but not usually a lot.  I play all winter if no snow.  Next week we have a cold snap coming; highs 15ºF lows 6ºF, but that should only last a week, then back to 30's.  If the course is open, I'll be out there.  It's a different game, for sure!

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

HMMMMMM! trying to determine my layers for tomorrows 8AM tee time.  Lake Erie is down to 43 degrees and wind is out of the south, so there will be no benefit from the lake tomorrow or for the rest of the winter, wind is supposed to be light and 41 degrees (MAYBE) at 8am, so there shouldn't be any snow flurries.

Low 40s is the limit for me as well.  If it's windy, low 40's will not cut it.   The biggest issue with winter golf for me is frost delay.  Tee time are generally backed up 60-90 minutes when there is a frost delay which is basically everyday from late November on...

My brother and I will actually play regardless of the outside temperature.  As long as there is no snow on the ground we will play. We have played many times when the ground is frozen solid, and its in 30's at tee off.  This actually provides a skill challenge in winter time, you can't land the ball on the green, because that is like the ball hitting a paved parking lot, so you have to work on landing it short of the green and bouncing it up on..   We're not worried about score, its just about getting in swings, and reducing the amount of time when the spring comes and people say" I haven't swung a club since.....!" Besides I don't duck hunt anymore, kids are grown and don't want to go sled riding in the winter time, so I would almost literally be left with sitting and staring out the window for 3-4 months until mid-March, or April would come.
