Has anyone tried Precision Pro Rangefinders w/ lifetime battery replacement

I usually run through 2 or 3 CR2 batterie each year for the use of my range finder.  These batteries are darn expensive.  I think over a lifetime of a rangefinder (hopefully 10 year +), this can add up to ~$100.   I saw that a manufacture called Precision Pro Golf make rangefinders with lifetime battery replacement.   Does anyone own/tried rangefinders from this manufacturer?

Easiest thing to do on here to find this type of information is to use the “search function”. I did this for you. I entered “Precision Pro”, and then I selected titles only, using all search words. There are 26 threads on Precision Pro.

I think I've gotten 1 battery from them replaced... no issues whatsoever and the range finder is still going strong...

I've had a  NX-9 for about 4 years - works perfectly. I get a battery annually and it comes within 3 days.

Use rechargeable CR2 batteries. It's a better solution, long term.

I've had mine for several years now and gotten the free replacement batteries a couple times. You need a serial number or something like that from the registered unit but then it is simple and the replacements come in an envelope in a few days.  Highly recommend Precision Pro !

Thanks.  I will need to ask for replacement at least twice a year.  I wonder if there is a cap.  I'm gonna call their support and find out.

I use one of those magnetic straps around my rangefinder and seem to go through batteries (CR 2) once a month.  Anyone else have that issue?  Golf Buddy Rangefinder.

I got my NX7 Pro Slope in Jun 2020 so it's just over 18 months, I have been completely satisfied with it. I'm on my third battery and it still shows 3 bars (or whatever full is). For my first replacement battery I called PrecisionPro and they sent it, but the guy who answered said "you know you can just go buy one yourself." I didn't say it was urgent, so I thought it was odd (disingenuous?) he said that since they advertise lifetime battery replacement. I did just buy my third battery local, they’re not expensive - about $10 for 2 CR2-3V which I don’t consider “darned expensive” at all…

I don't know how many replacements/year they allow, probably deliberately not published, but this tells you what they predict for rangefinder battery life (from their website). I play 2-3 times/week and I'm getting more than "seven to nine months" FWIW.

I have a Bushnell and my batteries last much longer than a year.  I have the ProXE and it has a magnetic for attaching to a cart.  Play three to four days a week and rely on mine.

I'm beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with mine.  I've replaced the battery 4 times now in last 2 years.  I play 2 round a week max and we have 4 months of snowy off season.  I currently have Bushnell Tour V3.

I did the original test here on  MGS of the Precision Pro rangefinder---- How ever long as it was ago mine is still going strong> did have to change the battery one time. A friend of mine gave me one. Precision Pro must have seen my comment on here because 2 weeks later one showed up here free of charge. They had my address on file since they had to send me one to test.

OP I would suggest comtacting Precision Pro because they are good people to work with

I have the Precision Pro NX7 (non-slope) model, and did get one replacement battery from them after about 8 months of use. However, I no longer use that rangefinder because I don’t like how slow and inconsistent it is in locking on to a target, plus the graphics are next to impossible to see in any type of bright light. If I am going to use a laser rangefinder, it will definitely be my older Bushnell unit, which is faster, more accurate, and easier to use.

Don't have the issue with my NX-9 which has a magnet. I probably get 150 rounds out of a battery.

Amazon, I purchased a dozen for $12. Yes the battery price is ridiculous for those, especially at a corner pharmacy.  I did an over the phone interview a few years back with Precision, in reference to a survey I filled out.  It will probably be my next rangefinder if/when my Bushnell ever dies.

I should buy a dozen and stop worrying about it.  I think I paid $7 for one after visiting two different pharmacies.

Even $7 every 6-9 months for a rangefinder doesn’t seem “darned expensive” coming from someone who plays golf (green fees, cart fees, wagers, balls, gloves, tees, food & drink, etc.) Golf ain’t cheap no matter who you are…

All too true.  I think I will probably consider precision pro when my trusty bushnell dies.
