I personally cannot wait for their official release to the general public.  As a Titleist loyalist and member of Team Titleist, we received this announcement this morning.  Of course they do make their debuts on the tour first to get the feedback from the pros.  😉

"New Vokey Design SM9 wedges (the next generation of the PGA Tour’s most-played wedges) are making their debut this week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui.

Bob Vokey, Aaron Dill, and the rest of the Vokey team have spent the past 2 years tirelessly testing and refining prototypes with the top players in the world. Now it’s time to put them through their final test on golf’s biggest stage.

Be sure to stay tuned to Titleist.com and our social channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) over the coming weeks for updates as the introduction of SM9 wedges rolls out across the worldwide professional tours."

I am with you on this.... being a Team Titleist man I can't wait.  I love my 8's and I personally have gone thru two sets. Then again I play a lot. We will see how these feel but man they look amazing!

No info but I want to know what I can get for the SM7's because I would gladly swap to the SM8 for the right price!

According to PGAValue Guide which determines the values for all golf clubs and is used throughout the industry.  This is for a SM7 Chrome

Trade in credit - $32 - $45

Trade in cash - $26 - $39

Resale - $63 - $84

I've tried a several other wedges over the past 15 years and the Vokeys always seem to have the right balance and look for me.  I don't see that there is anything interesting or different with these compared to the last couple models, but there hasn't really had to be.  As a Lefty, my options are narrowed from the start, so I appreciate when companies have several options available.

Lots of good wedges out there and much comes down to feel and look preference over the fitting part of it in opinion, second only to a putter.  With irons, hybrid, and woods, it seems like technology plays a larger role for me at least.

I am highly confident that the reason for the new wedges is that the list price on the SM8 is $159 and several other manufacturers are getting over $200 for their new wedges.  So, I'm expecting a price of $199 for these.

Yeah these do not please my eye. Sure they’ll perform like Vokeys always do but they look like the worst part of SM8 and SM7 got together and bumped uglies.

Just got Vokey SM9 in 54 F Grind and 58 D Grind. They replaced 2 CBX 2 wedges that were too ‘bulky’. They will go with my Titleist T300 irons and have the same Mitsubishi Fubuki MV shafts. 8” of snow today, so I won’t know if this was a good switch until either in a simulator or Spring.

My suggestions to customers is if you have the 7's, switch to the 9's. If you have 8's, unless they are beat up, hold until the next release.

Or if you like having new clubs then buy the 9s even if you have the 8s

I've seen them and swung them but didn't hit a ball;  so some people do have them already.

Exactly. My 56 & 60 Mizuno S18’s are beautiful and effective, I wouldn’t part with them.

I wouldn't get too excited over the SM8's price dropping.
From what I've heard around the camp fire, the remaining stock on SM8's is much lower than usual.
Which means either much less of a price drop, or if there is a price drop you may not be able to get the grind, loft bounce combination you are interested in.

I got a bag full of Cobras.... Well, not the putter... yet.

I was trying to avoid switching, but my 7s are worn out (and replaced by other less expensive wedges), so I am sadly looking at dishing out some serious coin for 3 of these wedges.  I think they look okay to me.
