For those of you that have used Vokey Wedges for a long time.

Hi, with the relase of the new SM9 and my pending order of SM8's have people that have used multiple generations of Vokey wedges seen significant differences in performance? Thanks!

What do you consider “significant” ?  Also, the only real information that has been release is a few photos and an announcement that they will be played on tour starting this week.   I’ve hit a lot of wedges during MGS testing and honestly don’t think you will see a lot of different from one interaction to the next.  Some people liked the 8s others didn’t so it is really hard to relate subjective feedback to you and what you like.

Overall feel has been different in some form the releases. I hated sm5 over 4s but the 6 and 7 were good releases. I’m a fan of the 8s and having just bought a set last year I’m not going to upgrade til next year and 99% chance it will be to sm9s

SM9 has a cleaner look than the SM8, that’s for sure

SM9's are on my radar for sure.  

I can never really say I've been in love with any version of the SM series ever since they got rid of the square grooves.  The grooves are where it's at & if I can't put spin on the ball, I'm not overly pleased with the wedge, no matter the aesthetics or OEM.  I'm sure I've had the same move thru the ball with the wedges, but I've never put the same spin on the ball since just before the release of the SM5 wedges or so.  (whenever square grooves were outlawed) I guess I could work on my wedge game more instead of relying on technology ... but hey, what's the fun in that?  LOL

I have in play a sm6 48, sm8 52 and a sm4 56. The sm4 spins alot more than the 6 and 8's. Also have a Sm4 60 when i take my 2 wood or hyrid out.

Zero difference. I've played a 58/4 Vokey for roughly 12 years, had 4 different models and they all perform the same.

I’ve got a 50* SM8 and a 54* SM9.  Feel between both is essentially the same.  With the shift of mass towards the toe end I expect to see that have some impact on performance in the higher lofted wedge.  I’ll likely add a 58 or 60 soon where it’s even more pronounced.

If it ever stops snowing up here, I’ll get out on the course and range to offer a brief review between the two models.

I have SM7  52/60 and SM8 48…..no noticeable difference in feel or play. Will be due for new wesges come end of the year and will be going SM9 most likely next year.
