I get that the “supercomputer” (is it REALLY a SUPER computer?! Pull the other leg, it plays jingle bells) has changed the face to get more out of it across the full face, and there’s a different weight in the back, but is it REALLY different? I agree with what was said in the article, it sounds a little tired, repetitive. It’s just meh for me, and I prefer a gloss head. The new Callaway a cross the board with a lot of different people testing are getting incredible results for accuracy and dispersion. Distance has been pushed too the edge the have to work on forgiveness now and Callaway really hit a home run with the new drivers goaliewales14

Ttm27
Does anyone know the overall head weight on the max version? I have the g425 max and like it and I think it’s worked well for me bc the head is 201g, heavier than most heads these days. Want to see if I can get same stability with this but better ball speed. Curious about overall head weight though. Thx! Edited January 29, 2022 by Ttm27
juspoole
Very interested to try out the max LS and Triple Diamond versions. I've liked my Mavrik Sub Zero and while I have found the dispersion left to right to be fairly good actually. This distance on off center hits can definitely suffer. Hoping I can find the best of all worlds with one of these. I actually did find a little better results when I hit the Epic Max LS last year, but nothing major to warrant a purchase. GolfSpy_APH
Had a demo with the Rogue ST D yesterday. I say demo because it wan't a fit for several reasons. 1 - The shop only had the 10.5 ST draw head in LH. Not my first choice by any means, but gave me a decent feel for the club. 2 - Only tried one shaft, again which was fine. it was the one most similar to mine in a previous Callaway line. 3 - They left me be and I just hit away So start with the funny part or wait till the end? ... I'll wait Observations Head looked great, awesome sound and nice feel off the head. However the head in that configuration was not suitable to my spin. It took a lot for me to get spin in the 2600 range and the swing felt off. When I swung my normal way the spin was usually above 3400 and although launch was in a decent enough window the spin killed the distance. Ball speed was in a range I liked as well for me. Just above the 150 mark on most all hits with a couple healy ones well not being great, of course which is expected. Ball flight was very straight overall. Again Spin was high so this was somewhat expected. So overall I really liked the driver and will go back when they have more heads in stock which will allow me to deal in a proper head and have a proper fit which will suit me. So the funny part... My first hit/swing felt amazing. Good contact, higher spin about 3200 with a decent draw. The issue it only went 219! Ball speed was low 150's, but overall it just didn't add up to me. I hit several more and even with some with lower spin the best carry I had was 230. I just figured I lost some speed over the winter and that was the case. So tried ramping it up, but spin started to climb and the distance pretty much capped there. So I talked to the guy for a little bit and then he said one word that made me feel really stupid... I live in Switzerland and our courses are all in Meters... so I needed to add roughly 10% onto all those distances to get yardages. Then it all clicked in and started to make more sense to me. Some definite confusion, but definitely something to make sure you look at before judging a club! LeftyMatt89
Well I have been looking at reviews and took the plunge on a triple diamond as this is the first year it is available for lefties. I can’t wait to take this to my fitter to get on a launch monitor and retrofit with my current LAGP AXS Blue and an older Tensei White 70TX I have. I got an all fit adapter for my LAGP shaft so I can compare numbers for both. Tensei white is an older shaft I had played in previous seasons. I bought a Callaway adapter for it to have two different shafts to test out. Primary goal: tighten dispersion over my current OG Sim Max. The OG Sim Max has beaten out TSi2 and TSi3 in on course comparisons in this least year. I have never hit a Callaway driver so I am looking forward to trying this. Rob W.
Winner, Winner - Ding, Ding, Ding First, thing you need to know is that I game the Ping 400 Max fairway finder and have been looking to replace it every year since I put it in. It's incredibly forgiving, but I can barely get it out there 235-250 with a 100+ swing speed. The last candidate I tried was the 9* Epic Max in S flex with Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 60 Graphite. So here are one guy's actual fitting results with the new Rogue ST. Rogue Max +1* loft - Ball Speed 141, Backspin 3,529,total spin 3,582, carry 220.5, total 239 yards Rogue Max set back to 9* - ball speed 141.6, backspin 3,677, total spin 3,985, carry 222, total 241 yards Rogue ST Max D New Mitsubishi TENSEI AV White 65 Graphite Stiff flex 9* Ball speed 139.7, Backspin 2,169, total spin 2,238, carry 230.5, total 255 yards - Boy is this thing a slice fixer, but I don't slice. More of a weak fade and all the shots were 30 yards left. Rogue ST Max New Mitsubishi TENSEI AV White 65 Graphite Stiff flex 9* Ball Speed 146, backspin 2,700, Total spin 2,766, carry 243, total 265 yards. So, for me, the head/shaft combo is much less spinny. The shots are naturally straight (fewer weak fades). Ball speed jumped because efficiency/smash improved. Saw more low to mid 4's than with the Max. The head sets up on the ground straight - the rail on the sole prevented me from rotating the face like I tend to do with round bottom clubs. Here is the funnies part of the fitting. I wasn't planning on one. I just happened to be at the PGA superstore hitting in the practice bay when I heard the Tour Van experience fitter say someone cancelled on him last minute. So I jumped in since Cally picks up the tab, and 45 minutes later ended up with a new driver. Went home with the quote (it was a total no pressure fitting). Searched for the 50% trade in bonus offer which luckily some members of WRX posted about, but didn't find my code email, so I called Callaway and asked for it. 10 minute call resulted in a $360 trade in value for the above mentioned MAX. I think even the wife would approve of spending $230 (taxes suck) to pick up 20-25 yards off the tee Will this happen for everyone? Hell no. But to those still on the fence about fittings, don't be. Get fitted into the right shaft, regardless the head you pick out. Prior to this experience I would never have thought of myself as a Low Spin/ Low launch shaft golfer. But Foresight don't lie about spin. RichL85
Since my work schedule screwed up my scheduled Taylormade fitting, I happened to see that Callaway will be at the course on Friday. I can easily justify skipping out of work a little early for that. I haven't really hit anything made in the past 5 years other than a Mavrik Max and the JPX921 Forged (head was used when I did the shaft fitting for my irons) so it will be interesting. I can't say that I'm really in the market for anything in particular, but I don't think it will be too difficult to convince me that I could use a few upgrades either. RichL85
Well... that felt like a waste of time. I went to try the clubs today at a local course near my office and hit a little bit of everything. I ended up hitting the Rogue ST Max driver and hybrids well enough, along with the standard Apex irons. Of everything I hit, the Rogue ST Max driver felt the best and seemed to tighten dispersion a little bit compared to my current club based on the ball flight. I do have to make a small rant though. If Callaway and the course want me to get fitted and purchase new clubs from the course, then I suggest that a course employee doesn't take up the one launch monitor for the entirety of my scheduled fitting. I was basically just left randomly swapping shafts and heads to try things without seeing any real numbers. It was fun to hit some new stuff, it was nice to get out of the office for an hour, but none of those clubs are going in my bag based off this experience. I went to a Callaway Rep fitting at my local course. They recently installed Full Swing golf Simulators so we were able to use those. I compared directly against my Mavrik SZ and I have to say I was let down by the results. I'm not sure what I expected to be honest. I should be happy that I have a great driver that fits me well currently. I was swinging the driver well, so my launch characteristics were good with my current and the new drivers. I noticed about 2mph more average ball speed with the Rogue ST Max LS, but carry, total yardage, and spin were all the same, if not a little better with my gamer. My longest drives were with my current driver. If I'm thinking back, maybe mis-hits had some discrepancy, but nothing that I would take away and think I need to spend that type of money on this driver. I think there are a lot of good drivers out this year and I just enjoy trying the new equipment so I'll likely try some of the others, but I think MGS has it right when they say you won't find major differences in driver for 3-5 years. cnosil 1 Quote Driver: Mavrik Sub Zero 9* (Set to 10) Ventus Blue 6X 2 Hybrid: TSI3 Hybrid Tensei Blue 80 X (17.25*) 3 Hybrid 818 H2 Hybrid Hzrdus RDX Black 6.5 (20.5*) 4 Iron - T200 4 Iron Graphite Design Tour AD IZ X Hybrid Shaft Irons 5-PW: T100-S 5 - GW KBS Tour 130 X Gap/Sand Wedge: Vokey SM6 49* SM8 54* Lob Wedge: Jaws 5 Wedge 58* DG Tour Issue Stiff Putter: Phantom 5.5 34" Pro Platinum Newport 2 35" Taylormade Tour Black Spider 34"

Micah T
Rogue max LS was a close runner up in my fitting: blew my gamer out of the water. Love the matte finish, and how it sits at address. Testing still right now but forgiveness has been great with the triple diamond. Looks awesome behind the ball. Currently have my LAGP AXS Blue shaft having its adapter changed to an all fit to go head to head with my current gamer. Any tangible results yet? I was playing it at first with a tensei pro white 70tx until my AXS blue had the tip changed. My dispersion has shrunk since I started using it and I am placing myself in a lot of great places to score. If only my short game was on. Either way, once I put the AXS blue back in, holy cow the driver came alive. This past weekend I had multiple drives over 320 with hitting 12/14 fairways. The ones I missed, I still had serviceable shots just more of a me issue than the club. All my playing partners tell me don’t take that out of the bag and they have seen me play a lot of different drivers haha. They see what I’m seeing is my misses are better and I’m giving myself the ability to score when the rest of my game is working. GolfSpy_BNG
Got my triple Diamond today and gotta say the pictures online don’t due it justice. Much better looking in person. Awaiting the Accra RPG Tour shaft to come in so I can install the green dot adapter and get a real look at address. For me it’s definitely better looking shapewise than the stealth+.
