They had one in the store where I was fitted so immediately.

I'm impressed with the sound of this driver!  Sweet and smooth like a opossum gumming down some persimmons. It's pretty much neck and neck with my Epic Flash on distance.  I'm thinking I will have a better idea after a few rounds how that shakes out. I'm thinking the Evenroll Project X may get some time in the Rogue head as I do enjoy that shaft.  It's cool having two heads where you can interchange the shafts . As for accuracy I didn't lose one to the right all day so I'm loving that.  Looks like it could be a winner in the fairways hit contest.  More to come as I have some bonding time with the Rogue.

Got my triple Diamond today and gotta say the pictures online don’t due it justice. Much better looking in person. Awaiting the Accra RPG Tour shaft to come in so I can install the green dot adapter and get a real look at address. For me it’s definitely better looking shapewise than the stealth+.

nice on the green dot adapter. i installed a red dot adapter, wanted mine to play flatter than standard.

It’s funny but with the green dot adapter -2*/S seems to look slightly closed compared to normal adapter at -1*/S. I would have thought it would set up slightly open. Hoping to get on the simulator this weekend for some base numbers. They also have a trackman that I’m looking forward to getting on once it is all set up.

Dang that's a pretty flat lie angle? I play my tsi3 in b1 so it's .75 flatter but that's still more upright than the rogue will play.

I must continue to  resist the urge to go and try these drivers

Finally got my Rogue LS and even though the weather has been horrendous we did get a couple of days in the 60’s and I’m amazed so far how straight it is, I was playing about a 30 yard hook with my Srixon and with this beaut it’s either straight or a tight draw. I will be interested to see the distance when it warms up and the fairways harden up a bit.

Awesome! I find it to be very forgiving and want to go straight too even on mishits. What a great driver they put out this year. Surprised it’s not getting as much recognition over the Stealth.

Hit the Rogue ST TD with RPG Gold M5+ shaft today and it was not a good time. I could not load the shaft to save my life. I think I bit off more than I can chew with this one lol. The shaft will be going bye bye to try something more in line with what I’m use to.

Yeah I’ll find something as I have about a month before my season will officially start. I’m thinking of picking up a Tour AD UB 5 to try out.

I just wasn’t loading it unless I swung out of my shoes.  It felt completely different than the one I hit in another guys Mavrik sz. I tried adding and subtracting head weight but nothing worked.  I knew going in it was in the stiff side of what I like to feel. It did lower my spin and launch when I did time it right though.

I posted a little bit ago in this thread on how good I thought this driver was, and wanted to post an update.  I did a driver fitting a few weeks ago and my top 3 going into that fitting were the Rogue ST Max, G425 Max, and TSI 3/4.  The fitting confirmed the Rogue ST Max was the way to go for me with the Tour AD TP 6x shaft at 45"!  I took advantage of Callaway's 150% trade-in and my driver came in yesterday!  Here's one of my first hits with it....it's safe to say, I'm very excited for this season!

Here’s a pic that Crossfield had in his video review of the new Rogue. It shows the “progression” of the face from Epic to this new Rogue via images showing hot spots, which I assume mean a more forgiving/hotter face across more of the face. 4604CE90-194D-424B-A65F-7C526C596B0D.jpeg.179902c62762cd543a6eb51539722e2b.jpeg

Did Crossdield define what the colors mean? Is green more forgiving?

Callaway 816 Alpha DBD driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, Alpha 815 3 hybrid, RAZR X Forged cavity back irons 3-AW, 54-14 MD4 wedge, Maltby MS+ wide grind 60 degree lob wedge, 37 inch Rife Swithback Two putter. All clubs overlength - 47 inch driver, 45 inch 3wood, 44 inch 5 wood, 41 inch 3 hybrid, 39.5 inch 5 iron with other irons in line with that. All clubs graphite shafted and X-flex except flex of putter.

So I think this is more of a topography type map where we are seeing the peaks and valleys (thick and thin) parts of the face in the different models. I think this is of the Epic Max, so you can see the "raised" regions towards the heel and toe.

image.png

To me it looks like significant face architecture change from the Epic Max to the Rogue ST Max.  The two LS models look like more of an evolution.  We see similar "hot spot" in both models around the high-toe and low-heel area of the face.

It is interesting to see this change in the face thickness between models as they likely change the priority and goals of the modelling.

Yeah even with AI helping/designing the face there's ways they can change the questions to get different outputs.

I remember a lot of the conversation between the original Epic Flash and Mavrik was because the OG flash face wasn't as forgiving since the AI was asked to create the fastest face.  Where Mavrik they changed the questions to include more forgiveness in the face too.

I have to imagine it's continued AI learning, tweaking of common impact places for that player type, and whatever other real world learning they've gotten from feedback on the past several years of faces.

Yes it does seem the tweaking will continue and I am sure it won't be too long before with maybe the addition of 3D printing that at least the PGA tour players can work to adjust parameters based on what they are seeing to get a custom AI face that controls for the speed and forgiveness they are looking for based on those strike patterns and so on. Probably a little ways off, but all theoretically possible.

I don't even think it's that far off... didn't they have like 14 MAVRIK models on the USGA conforming list? haha

If they did that is probably why, gotta test each and every face to make sure that is conforming

Hit the TD again today on the Full Swing/Trackman simulator today. Ball speed was really low. I’m also struggling with a hook and kinda missing the sliding weight of the stealth to help. I wish there was a way to add more fade bias without hotmelt.

More of the same today. I think it’s time to move on. I love the look of the head but it sets up closed to my eye and I really need a more open face.
