How does Toe up affect a putter?

Say there is  7-8 degress toe up on a malled double bend putter. How would that affect performance if any?

I would say minimal if any;  that is basically face balanced.  Shaft is just a little off so would intersect toe side of center causing it to be a little toe up.

So would it cause pushes then or would it not make a huge difference?

IMO, that is more stroke dependent and how you react to the putter.   For example, Edel putters are all significantly toe up but that doesn’t mean they cause pushes just like putters that are toe down doesn’t cause pulls.

The generic advice on fitting would say it is easier to close the face of a toe up putter than a toe hang model. Making it easier to shut would promote a pull. But it's all about how the individual responds to the putter. If you hit a bunch of putt with a plumbers neck or other toe hang putter, then immediately switch to a face balanced or toe up putter there is a good chance of hitting some pulls until you adjust.

FYI, "Toe Hang" is something completely different.  See pic below.   I has nothing to do with whether the putter has toe sitting up or not at address.  Completely unrelated.

I am aware of the difference between toe hang and toe up. I own and have been fit for both styles of putter. My comments above differentiate between the two models.

My mistake.  I didn't even realize "Toe up" putters even existed.   I mistakenly thought the poster was talking about putter that is sitting upright at address.   Eager to learn more about what that kind of 'negative' toe hang does.  Thanks.

I guess I was confused about this too.  I also thought "toe up" referred to lie angle or having low hands at address such that the toe is off the ground at address.
