I'm assuming no one wants to go to Mohican Hills? I know some guys said it was not in good shape, but it looks good on Google Earth.

No to Mohican Hills. @MaxEntropy, Mike and @Mr_Theoo and I played there a few years ago on a recommendation from someone and it was an absolute goat track. The layout is great but with the condition of the course, they should have paid us to play. Manakiki sounds intriguing.

I'll go anywhere in the area. I just threw out some of my favorites and southern courses I've heard good things about.

Agreed. I've never played Manakiki but it always looks nice (and challenging) from pictures I've seen.

It's classic Donald Ross. Plus the metro parks run it, so it's always in great shape. The greens are considerably easier than Sleepy Hollow though, there's actually flat spots.

Lol, just flatter when compared to Stanley Thompson. Speaking of, what's Denison GC like? I'd make the trip down to play that one in Cbus.

My vote is Apple valley looking at the choices websites. It looks the most fun.

I played Mohican last year, it wasn't in horrible shape.  A really nice track actually.

Apple Valley and Manakiki both sound good, Deer Ridge may be most accessible (right off 71).

That sounds good. We should try and set something up. There's quite a few central Ohio courses I want to check out and I need excuses to make the trip.

If we are going in April,  either of the courses to the south. Maybe we get a little warmer weather and drier conditions. I would vote for Deer Ridge, a bit closer to me and easier to get to, but fine with either. Manakiki always a winner, but being closer to the lake we could have rough weather early in the season.

Executive decision time. Apple Valley for this one, May 14th or 15th. I'll try and organise two more during the year, one at Manakiki and the other at Deer Ridge.

I'm in Cincinnati. I've been following the Ohio discussions, but haven't chimed in because it's been unlikely I could make it for most of the options discussed. If you choose Apple Valley for May 14 or 15, I might make it! It fits my target of under three hours driving (just), and at present that weekend is free.

I would prefer a track south of Cleveland / north of Cbus area, to make it a 2 + ish hr ride.
