Middler
I want to replace my 3h, but I don't know of anyone who does fittings for hybrids alone. It's my understanding there's usually a logical progression of shaft weights from driver (lightest) to irons/wedges (heaviest) for well fitted clubs. I've searched online for a rule of thumb, or a table with examples but haven't found anything. I was loosely fitted in three separate (free) fittings for most of my clubs, but if I have it close to right it's somewhat down to luck. I hope to order a new 3h with the best guess standard OEM shaft option - and I don't love my current 3h so I can't assume matching the current weight is best. Just FWIW, my bag shaft weights: Driver 60g 3W 68g 3h 77g 4-GW 91-96g SW & LW 100g CC custom fitted me with a 48g driver shaft (which I sold on eBay after a couple months), but that was a complete disaster if that suggests any tendency. null
Generally 3H would be in the 80-100g range. Based on your driver and 3w weights somewhere around 80-90g should be fine. Of course, shaft profile, balance point and overall swing weight of the club can change how you perceive the weight Middler
cnosil
General research seems to indicate about a 10gr progression as you move through the woods and hybrids. Based on feedback I got from KBS when I was getting their hybrid shaft the indicated that lighter typically resulted in higher flight. Based on your listed weights I’d target 80ish due to your iron weights. a search for golf shaft weight progression produces a pretty good chart for individual clubs and club types. This chart indicates this progression for a 60ish gram driver driver 60-65 woods 67-80 hybrids 85-95 irons 120+ Middler 1 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
