Ty Webb1
So I’ve got a net and small mat in my backyard, which is great, but I really want to work on wedges/high irons and getting them off grass. I have plenty of room for it and it’s mediocre grass anyway, but has anyone else done this? I guess my main question is how long does it take to repair/replace the divots? Quote Link to comment

I think Google would be your friend. You could ask the question based on your location and the type of grass. Tom the Golf Nut
Best to go to your local golf course and ask what type of grass they are using and the heal time. Tyler86
@Ty Webb1 I do. Sand/dirt/seed mix to patch divots. Seed isnt a must if you have a rhyzomatous (spelling) lawn. And feed it and water it so it grows well. I use a turf type tall fescue that is rhyzomatous, sort of. Im in MN. Specific Type of grass depends on where live. Be careful though. Some grass, bermuda/zoysia can take over your lawn. Quote Mavrik Max Driver M2 5W 818 hybrids Steelhead XR Irons ZipCore wedges SeeMore PR M7X Link to comment
RDel90
I hit in my backyard, but have used a mat just in the strike area. So tore up my lawn (St. Augustine grass) with my stance and rotation. Just dropped on a new mat to try. My post is here. And it's actually a big zoysia lawn, so it's not exactly a White House caliber lawn to begin with. But big and great for the kids, so I didn't have any big plans other than cutting it. anyway. Which made me consider hitting right off the grass. I'll probably do it. Tyler86 1 Quote Link to comment
golfinnut
I basically have my own driving range in the back yard. I have to hit over my neighbors fence (well, more mine) into the woods. Then my other neighbor likes to take his son over in the woods with his backpack to see how many he can find. He brings back a bag full each time. So I have my own Ball Picker! HA! My grass comes back in about 2 weeks. No real issues. cnosil and MattF 1 1 Quote WITB: Do I like Titleist or what?
