Popular Post chisag
... MGS Ball Testing says Titleist ProV1 sets the standard for quality and performance and I doubt anyone can find any fault with that claim. After playing about 10 rounds with Maxfli Tour balls, I put some ProV1's into play for 5 rounds then went back to Maxfli Tours for another 10. At my level of play, I just can't tell much difference if any at all. The Maxfli Tour is just so good at everything and the only difference I might have seen is the ProV1 is just a little more durable. I bought 2 dozen Maxfli Tours for $60 after MGS gave them such high marks and then went back and took advantage of the 4 dozen for $104 deal. That's 4 dozen Maxfli Tour for the cost of 2 dozen ProV1's so for non tour players that don't get balls for free, if you play 5 times a week and even once a week that is a substantial savings for balls that I can honestly not tell apart. ... I also always use the CG alignment on the tee and on the greens but do not "line up putts", I just make sure it is pretty much in the direction I am hitting/putting. I really can't say if it makes any difference but if Maxfli went through the trouble to find the CG, I figure why not use it. At the moment I think it is the best ball deal going. Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
I came to the same conclusion when I was doing the testing on these. Seemed that more of the testers preferred the "X" but I prefered the regular tour. I switched over as well and even picked up a dozen in yellow for contrast against the dormant tan colored fairways. chisag, MGoBlue100, wwaldo and 12 others 14 1 Quote Driver, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 3 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 7 Wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 Hybrid King Tec MMT R Flex Irons, Tour UST Recoil 95 R Flex (6 - Gap) Wedges, Snakebite KBS Hi- Rev2.0 54* & 60* Agera 35" Ultralight 14-way Cart Bag
Popular Post Blueberry_Squishie
I remember back in my junior days where being able to buy a Maxfli Revolution was the ultimate. You'd use two of your ball prizes to get your hands on one "Revo". I loved those things despite them turning light brown by the second hole. If the new Maxfli balls were readily available here, I'd definitely give them a shot. The recent forum testing showed they were very good too. Popular Post GregGarner
Like many on here, I'm definitely a tinkerer. I was 100% sold on gaming the new Chrome Soft X LS once it came out. But I decided to try the Maxfli Tours in gloss yellow, both because I'd never gamed a yellow ball and because they're cheap affordable. Holy crow. I did a 2-ball, side-by-side comparison for 18 holes with a ProV1 and my playing partner went from, "Maxfli? Are you 80 years old? Or poor?" to "I guess it's working for you. Those are some good shots..." to "Dang. Do you think I'd like the X version?" I could flight it, spin it, and shape it such that it was completely indistinguishable from the V1. THE ONLY difference I can find is that it's ever-so-slightly more affected by the wind and it's just a hair softer than the V1. ...So now I have 6 dozen. Popular Post Larryw
I've been using them since the 2019 ball test. With my game, I cannot distinguish a difference with the ProV1 - other than being a lot lower cost. The 2021 version is just as good - if not better - than the previous version. The alignment decal does not bother me visually, and I don't use it for alignment. I "floated" the first couple of dozen balls and did not find one that was not in perfect balance. I found that hard to believe - so I floated several balls of all brands from my used bucket - just to make sure the "floating" was working and it was working just fine. I keep trying all the new balls, some I find and others I buy, but so far nothing comes close to the Tour any where near the price. Do want to try the Vice Pro/Vice Pro+, but at their price, even if they were as good as the Tour - the price just wouldn't work out to be better. 6 Million Dollar Man, chisag, GregGarner and 7 others 9 1 Quote Tour Edge C721 Driver, Integra 45g L flex shaft BombTech 2 HW 16* BombTech 5 W Maltby KE4-Max 5 - PW, Recoil Dart 65 A flex shaft Maltby TSW-DRM 50*/54* wedges, Recoil Dart 75 R flex/spinner shaft Bettinardi Studio Stock #5 putter

Popular Post fixyurdivot
Having been a tester for the Tour and Tour X, I've come to like these balls more and more as I keep putting them into play. As many know, I've really struggled finding those few ball that are "best for my game". This task seems easy for many of the forum members... me, not so much. I play lots of H2H (2 ball) competitions while playing rounds (often documented in the "How did you play" thread) and when course play permits, and have pitted a healthy dozen tour and mid tier balls against one another... and still have a hung jury . But, when I consider how these performed in the MGS Lab tests and that, when on sale (like the recent MGS 40% off special), they are arguably the best value out there. They and the Snell MTB are, IMO/E, every bit the equal of the Pro V's. The only slight edge I would give the Pro V's is durability. chisag, tony@CIC, Tom the Golf Nut and 7 others 10 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review) AI-One Milled Seven T CH (Currently Under Product Test)
DiscipleofPenick
I am looking forward to trying these. DSG had the "old" version online at 2 for $45 at the end of last season. I picked up 2 dozen yellow. Can't argue about the price and we'll see if this takes over from the Z-Star I've been playing the last 2 years. I switched from the ProV1 because of cost. So I saved $10 (or more) as I was finding old model Z-Star on Amazon for under $30 for awhile. So why not knock off another couple bucks if performance is close. Bulldog
Played 18 on Tuesday - front 9 with Titleist AVX and back 9 with Maxfli Tour. IONEPUTT
When I started playing golf 20 years ago. I picked up a few dozen of the MaxFli Tour balls on sale for under $10 a dozen. I got both the regular Tour ball as well as the LT version which has more spin but a lower ball flight so it will not balloon from the higher spin numbers. I loved that ball and I still have a couple dozen of them left in my stash of tour balls. If the new Tour balls are as good as the 20 year old version, they should be great. tony@CIC 1 Quote All my clubs are custom built with aftermarket shafts that have been spine and FLO aligned for max performance every swing. bobsarobot
For me the Maxfli Tour balls are considerably longer off my driver. I gave my playing partner one to play last season and he stuck a 9 iron for birdie that he said his Pro-V would not have held the green on since it was a bit of a lower trajectory shot that stopped dead on a tight pin. The four box deal for $105 is unworldly. Best value out there and I don't think these Maxfli balls are deficient in any area comparted to Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade, Srixon, etc. Inferno2ss, chisag, Tom the Golf Nut and 2 others

Loved your review and exactly why you have to try them yourself. I found it very interesting Edingc preferred the Tour X over the Tour because the Tour did not spin enough for him. At up to 118 mph swing speed compared to mine at around 98 mph balls will react differently. Spin for me with the Tour is perfect with full iron shots, considering I find Bermuda greens to react differently during twilite rounds. Into the grain they one hop, stop and spin back a foot or two. Down grain they one hop, stop and release a foot or two. So 4-6 feet of difference is fine by me. I really don't want my ball spinning back 6 - 10 feet when hitting into the grain so I do not have to worry about throwing the ball past the flag to accommodate more spin. For me at least, chips and pitches are equally good with either ball but the deal breaker for me at a swing speed under 100 mph is the Tour is longer than the Tour X. While Edingc admitted the Tour might be a little longer, he has distance to burn and he can afford to give up a little yardage so the X performed better in every other way for him. Since you can get 2 dozen for $60 It ain't a bad idea to get one of each and find out which works best for your swing. jared52
A story: I pride myself in playing balls I find. I don’t play them if they are cut, but scuffs are typically fine. Is shoot anywhere from 85-95, have a driver swing speed from 100 to 110, and usually lose about 3 to 5 balls a round. I play balls I find because of the last part of that statement. I hate wasting money. A couple of days ago I started thinking that maybe I should try playing with new balls to see if I can keep them in play. Of course I love playing Pro V1s I find, but I’m not shelling out $50 for 12. Earlier this year, I saw that MGS had a 40% deal for the Maxfli Balls and I was almost about to buy the 48-count box but bailed. Man do I regret that. Last night, I did more reading up on the Maxfli Tours including reading this thread and decided to grab the 2 dozen for $60 deal (would have been that much for 48 a couple of months ago). This morning my 10-year-old son and I hit the course for 18. My first ball went into the fairway to the left of the hole I was on, but it was straight as an arrow, I just pulled it. I then took a breakfast ball and put it right where I wanted. I’ll spare you the details of the whole round but will say this. I don’t think I played a lot better than normal (I didn’t keep score today, I just had one goal in mind which I’ll get to soon), but I think my drives were a bit straighter, and as long as ones I hit with Pro V1s (between 250-260 probably). I missed some fairways like normal, but only had one bad slice trying to hit a big drive on 16. I used the CG alignment on the tee and I loved that. It gave me confidence I was lined up properly. I was my typically bad self around the greens, but putted OK. Going into the round I had one goal, don’t lose a ball. Not just because I am cheap but I knew that would improve my performance and keep me from getting frustrated. She had some adventures flirting with a lake, going in a creek (but not where I couldn’t get it with a retriever) and visiting the edge of the woods a couple of times. However when the last clip-clop of the cup sounded, she was there waiting for me to bring her home. I’ve never played 18 with the same ball, and I’m not saying the ball is magic. If you hit it bad, it’s gonna be bad. But I’m very, very happy with the decision and I hope they go on sale again because I’m going to stock up on these suckers. tony@CIC and bobr3
