Back to Team Cobra

When I was in high school, or about 20 years ago now(!!!), I gamed the King Cobra 350SS driver.  That thing was the best driver I ever used; 280-300 down the middle probably 75% of the time.  Tee balls were actually probably my biggest strength back in the day.  Then I "upgraded" to a TaylorMade r7 Quad and ditched the Cobra, and since then, my game hasn't been the same.  I've gone through several driver options since with varying levels of success (i.e., lots of failure):  TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2, Mizuno ST18, Mizuno ST200G, PXG Proto X.  I finally made a decision to go back to my roots, and traded by PXG for a Cobra Speedzone, and I AM IN LOVE.  It's only been a few shots in the backyard and a simulator session, but I am so ready for golf season to start here.  I loved the feel so much I even bought a RadSpeed Big Tour 3 wood to go with the Speedzone.

Cobra Speedzone 9.0*, Graphite Design Tour AD-MT 6x shaft

Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour 14.5* 3 wood, Graphite Design Tour AD-GT 7x shaft

Cobra has made some really good drivers the last several years. At least back to the Fly-Z. I have the F7. It’s in my travel bag driver now but I still enjoy hitting it. It took 3 really good sim sessions with my current gamer before I’d replace it. My brother in law has an F9 and it definitely is the longest driver I’ve seen him hit.

for a Cobra Speedzone,

I also recently purchased a Cobra Speedzone.  I finally am moving on from my 2012ish, Nike VR Pro.  Hit the older Mavrik, a Taylormade and the Cobra.  I loved it.  Hoping the on course results mirror the hitting on the simulator.  For a 55 year old I was able to get a couple really well hit ones to roll out to 300 according to the screen.  We will see but love the feel of it, can't wait to use it on course.

I've played cobra for more than 30yrs started with the cobra II OS with the little wing on the hosel. No my bag is F9 woods and F9 irons combo set MB/CB with AMT white R100 shafts. I had KBS S120 in them but they where just al ittle to stiff. My favs though where the CXI's with graphite shafts.

Lots of love to Cobra and products they make I even wear Puma's shoes.

I'd rather be play golf than just about anything else.

Everything in my bag is Cobra except for wedges.  The offset keeps slices to a minimum and I really like the feel.  Taylor Made is coming to our club Saturday and I scheduled a fitting, want to compare my Cobra with the new Stealth.   In addition, they're bringing their truck down and will make the club to my own specifications.  Also tried the XXIO and got abut 15 yards longer (my swing speed can be timed with a sand clock 81 mph), but I'm genetically incapable of spending $800 for a new driver.

I'm going back to Cobra with my driver today.  Fitted last year but couldn't sell the idea to the warden on another golf club spend at the time.  Putting my Sim Max in the corner and I have the RadSpeed XB with the peacoat blue finish being delivered today.  Freaking stoked about it.
