Plowedge81
I currently shoot mid 90s and putt poorly. I'm playing with a cavity back game improvement set of irons. I like the Cobra King Tec copper irons, and I could definitely use the extra distance from the lower lofts. I'm hoping to hear of their forgiveness or lack of from anyone that has hit them please? I'd only be buying 6-GW if I do. Hybrid or Fairway wood from there. Quote Mid 90's bad putter, love this game ! Link to comment

Keeper905
I'm a bit confused, the above link doesn't have anything on Forged Tec Irons. It had Rad Speed, King Tour MIM, and then King Tour MIM again but in copper. So nothing on Forged Tec. So I will weigh in here as I have these irons, just no in copper. I'm about the same as you @Plowedge81, shooting mid 90's. Last year I upgraded from cavity back GI irons (Callaway X20's) to these King Forged Tec 2020 irons. I find that the consistency on hitting these to be better than my old set. Distance is better overall, but more importantly not losing massive yardage on off center hits. In short answer, I have found forgiveness to be better on these and my shots to be purer. However, I was fitted for these and I'm certain that a shaft fitted for my swing also makes a big difference on being able to get consistent shots compared to my old "off the shelf" clubs. I can say this though, I am very pleased with my Forged Tec irons. RickyBobby_PR
Simple answer is to test them yourself and if you like them then go get fit for them. Buying blind based on peoples feedback on an Internet forum that dot swing like you even if they have the same handicap and swing speed will more than likely lead to bad results. Could be the head, the shaft, the combo that doesn’t make them work for you. There are no bad clubs on the market just clubs that are a bad fit for the golfer Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1 Link to comment
vandyland
Also, just be aware that the copper will wear over time (especially on the sole). These will not look mint in 6 months if you are cool with that. The copper will show wear much more than chrome (but also these are tools not jewels in my mind). stephenmatt
I have never played them but for some reason I just love the way they look. Hopefully you update us if you get them! Quote Link to comment

I am currently gaming the King Tour MIMs in the copper finish. Like @vandyland said, the copper does wear out. I’ve only had my PW and 9 iron start showing wear. It’s mainly on the bottom of the club and the lower grooves. I honestly don’t mind the look at all. Yeah it was sexy looking when I first got them paired with the black KBS $ shafts, but it’s been holding up decently well. I didn’t hold back either. We have sandy ranges in Alabama, and those will take off the paint of anything. Back to the original question, I can’t speak for the Forged Tecs, but the MIMs have been great with forgiveness if you’re willing to look into those. I also have a 4hybrid in the Radspeed from Cobra. This might be one of my favorite clubs to hit. I could never hit my 4 iron in my old set, so when I got my new set, I went PW-5 with a 4 hybrid. Don’t regret it at all. vandyland 1 Quote Cobra Connect 5 participant G410 Plus, w/ X stiff 75 g Project X Evenflow Black shaft driver / Radspeed w/ Smoke RDX Blue 70S shaft Big Tour 3 wood/ 5 wood w/ Fujikura X F3 60S shaft 4 Hybrid w/ Project X Catalyst 80S shaft Copper MIM Tour Irons w/ KBS $ Taper Balck 120S shaft Snakebite 50, 54, and 58 wedges w/ KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 125S shaft Newport 2.5 putter MTB X golf balls RH, Alabama Link to comment
