fixyurdivot
I like the clean lines and look of these. Wilson designed a winner in the D7's and clearly did not mess with success... just minor tweaks. I hit the D7's at my fitting last year and they fell in the middle of the pack for my data. At the 2021 PNW Spy Meet-up, I hit Chris's @Thin2winset of D7's at the range and they were performing great... go figure . Arguably one of the best "Big Name" offerings on the market, folks in the market for new irons, would be remiss not to include these on their list of "must try". revkev
I don't know how I missed this. I'm still gaming the D7 forged from a year and a half ago. Absolutely love them. I find them extremely forgiving but I don't hit anything longer than a 6 iron, normally, which could be why I've not had any forgiveness issues. Maybe both. Either way, deets! Ha...Sold, no that would be a record even for me I had my first round with them on Wednesday. It was in the rain and cold. Is that enough of a disclaimer already, where you see this is going Yeah, to put specifics to that, about 54 degees, steady light rain, not enough for an umbrella or to stop, but enought that I had to keep my glasses clean after every hole. and a bit windy, not so much it affected flight, but enough that with the rain and relatively cold temps, provided a pretty misereable day for 14 of the 18 holes. So the first thing I will say, even those these are in the D9 GI family. There is enough "player forging" that you will get feedback if you mishit it, especially on a cold damp day. But on the same hand you will get a wonderful feel when you pure it, whichI did on two par 3's that both led to birdies, one from 110 and the other from 138. Hit 9 and 6 iron. But I had a lot more mishits than solid hits. I don't tend to play well in cold weather, and therefore I rarely play in it. But I was taking 3 of our employees out for a round at a local nice course, as a thank you for the great work they do. We hap postponed the previous week due to rain, and our schedules get jammed starting next week, so it was pretty much play that day or wait a long while. One of the guys in our shop who is a scratch player and has the Tiger P7TW irons, took a look at them and said they look great at address. He saw the sole had a bit of width to it and said the top line did a good job of disgusing that bit of a wider sole. So yeah, they do look great on all accounts. But like most forged irns, they will let you know when you miss a spot. As for getting away with some fat/heavy shots, which I had a few of, they didn't disguise that as well as my T300, but certainly did better than the Mizuno 223's did. More to come next week when temps improve a bit.
