Number 10 at Las Colinas in AZ. Long Par 4. I usually try to drive this at the trees on the right, but I hit a weak push that never got much elevation and run out a bit into the left rough. Really unfortunate because the hole plays long and there a ridge at about 250-260 where if your ball goes over it will run down the hill some. Not uncommon for me to hit 280-290 drives here. You want to be close for a controlled approach because this green has an elevated upper tier, and if you are on it putting down the hill there is no way to stop your ball. Its 3 putt city. Of course the pin is front center, so I'm trying to underclub a hair to not go long, and I just absolutely flush an 8 iron. Its right at the pin. I mean right at it like it going to land in the hole. Lands on the green and takes a couple of bounces. Flier. No good. The ball keeps rolling to the peak of the tier. Im yelling at it, no no no no no no!! The other people in my group are so confused because I just drilled this shot to 15 feet. But I've had that nightmare putt before and didnt want it again. Your ball is going to run 8 feet past down the hill unless you hit it the cup. The ball stops for a few seconds. I'm using a bright @Yellow Ball so everyone can see it sitting there on the peak,  and then it moves. Wait, did it? Am I dehydrated? Drunk? I thought it wiggled. And then again. WTF. And then for sure its rolling back in slow motion. We all start screaming. Come back! Back! Yes! Go go go go go go!. It picks up some steam and rolls right by the hole and luckily stop about 3 feet short of it. Tap in bird. But the excitement from the group was the fun part.

For sure hold 5 (arccos is wrong) had a piped drive wind left to right. A 1/2 swing 52* that stuck to about 8’. Only ball j was able to stick today, the greens are very firm. Drained the 🐦

Definitely this one: my first eagle!  Tee shot was good but that hybrid was nuts! My depth perception is terrible; I hit a rope that felt good but I was looking for my ball around one of the trees on the right closest to the fairway.  My buddy Randy looked up and noticed the ball on the green about five feet from the pin.  Managed to sink the putt.

On this round I was pretty happy I almost got my first hole in one, but that isn't my hole for the round. 18th par 5 488 yards wind coming from the left and little help which I'll account for the driver shot, There is a speed slot on this hole as well. My second shot was from 163 to the pin. There is water from about 130 in all the way on the right side of the green. A lot of times if you hit the green and your ball is moving right it will make it to the water as there is a wall and the green is cut right up to the wall. I hit a smooth 7 left of the hole and it's holding the line and I was like please be the number. Then it starts drifting right and I'm Iike noooo stop going right. Ball lands about 3' right of the pin and stops at about 8'. I was like ohhhh thank you. Putt was flat, straight and all i needed was to get the speed right, Which I did for my second eagle, whew.

More about the recovery than the hole as a whole😅

16th hole playing into a 20mph wind. Solid drive, followed by a massive pull hook with my 5 wood. Blind shot over the elevated 17th tee from the 18th fairway. Put it to about 8 feet and made a downhill left to right slider.

Fridays fun, let’s take one that I all around played well.

18 at Greystone, the closer, 380 from the blues.

Wind in the face off the tee, hit 3 wood which left me 155 to a back left pin.

80% 7 iron that found the middle left of the green and 15’ for birdie. Made the putt and closed out the round on a bright note.

Yesterday. I had a little help from my friend, Windy… but this was nuked anyways… of course, I pulled the wedge shot.  As you can see, I reinstalled the sensors… but eventually I’m going to replace them with grips, or a different tracking system.

probably should have been the loan birdie hole, but this was way more fun.

Pushed my drive into the right rough.  Not the best of lies so laid up short of the bunkers. Drained the approach for an eagle!

320 yard short par 4.

1. Hit 3 wood off the tee to try out of trouble because there is water on the right, theoretically should be out of play with 3 wood. Smoke the 3 wood down the middle.

2. Had about 85 yards in, hitting a full 54 degree wedge, pushed it a little bit right but still landed on the green, stopped on a dime

3. good lag putt

4. made the par putt

1st hole #2 Hobbits Glen Par 5-   Normally when I hit a good fade over the trees on the right, I end up going for it and usually end up with a bad result(water, push right into the trees etc) maybe 1 our of 5 ends up on or just short..   Today decided was going to play it smart.   Payed off and sunk a 26' foot putt for the birdie.   Probably haven't learned my lesson and will go for it next time again 🙂

2nd 16h hole Hobbits Glen Par 3. - This was one of the shots where I did exactly wanted I wanted and had the distance perfect.     Set up or hit a slight fade choose a 7 since pin was back and I knew if I hit it well I could get it back there, but little risk of going over the green.   13' putt for birdie

Ended up with this because it was the only hole last week that I played correctly start to finish.

Forced layup par 5. You run out of room around 260-270 an if you miss left you run out of room at 220 and will have to punch out to the fairway, still wont have a shot at the green.

3W if I miss is bad, very little room for error and hybrid is honestly a better play but worked out. hit 4i over and just trickled off the fairway. I could go at the green with a 3W again but again is probably even riskier than the tee shot. Ended up 60 out for a nice smooth 60* that released a little bit and had an 11' 2 putt par.

Hopefully next round I have a hole thats a little less vanilla.

Two beautiful holes back-to-back this morning for birdies. Pretty sure they are the best I've played both holes all season, not necessarily from a score standpoint, but from a swing/execution standpoint they were spot on.

First up, the lone par 5 on the back, No. 14. Hit one of my best drives all season on this hole into a 10-12 MPH headwind. GPS had me 225 into the center of the green, decided to go for it with my Super Hybrid because I had a perfect lie in the fairway. Water short and right. Ball came out like a dart right at the pin and landed middle of green and rolled out onto back fringe. Chipped down the hill leaving a three footer that snuck in the right side of the cup for a really quality birdie.

ReactNative-snapshot-image8001389539188308319.jpg.defd113f96508b0d755c7e14cd5ca547.jpg

Followed that up on the short par 4 No. 15 hole with the best Super Hybrid I've ever hit from the tee. Really high baby draw that actually landed on the right edge of the green and rolled into the back fringe. Hit a perfectly crisp chip shot with my 58 to four inches and tapped in for bird.

May have been the most beautiful drive I've hit in my life so had to post it here. This fairway goes up a bit (30 feet from tee box to landing area), so to see 299 is fantastic. Left me a pitching wedge that I left to the underside of the hole. Twenty foot eagle putt just missed, leaving a three inch tap-in birdie.

By the way, the "Elevation Profile" in Google Earth Pro is really cool. You can see the difference in elevation between two points by creating a path and then going to "Edit -> Show Elevation Profile":

Yeah, it's listed at 454 on the card. All uphill and it's not uncommon for the fairways to be pretty long. It's become significantly easier though since they had to take out a dead tree on the inner side of the dogleg (satellite imagery doesn't show that yet).

But to your point, there's a reason why the rating/slope is 69.4/114 from the back tees. It's not overly long and pretty forgiving as long as you don't find out of bounds around the perimeter of the course or get stuck too deep into the trees between holes.

My hole of the round today was hole number 7 on my home course. It is a par 3 over water and because there is water this a nemesis hole for me normally. Today it was playing 110 yards according to the Shotscope Pro LX+ range finder and 107 yards to the H4 GPS m testing for the forum. So I went with a nice easy PW. I hit it to 18 feet and 2 putted for par. And as I am finding with my test, I forgot to tag on the tee box. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The new Shot Scope H4 had its maiden round this afternoon and there were some significant trial and errors on my part … played with the H4 clipped to my belt and it’ll take some time to change up my routine and remember to tap the tag to the H4.

Below is not so much my best hole, but def my proudest. It was a bogey 5 for the hole and I’ll need to learn more about how to edit my score.

The drive was my 3rd longest on the day, managed to carry the tree line, but got an unlucky sloping hard kick to the left … left me just to the right at the base of a tree with low overhanging branches on my line directly at the pin. Had an opening that required me to aim way out to the right of the green and draw it in. Not my stock shot, which is a slight fade.

Clubbed up with the gap wedge, choked down on the grip with the ball in the back of my stance, took a half-somewhat check swing … and somehow managed to flight the ball below the branches, carry the pond and draw it to the right edge of the fringe. And hot damn did it feel great to pull that shot off. 😂

My joy was somewhat nullified … putted my 3rd from just off the fringe and got to about 5ft … just burned the edge on my 5 footer, tapped in for bogey.

I find the web interface is nicer for editing holes. I forget to tag things all of the time so I'm in there frequently.

Nice approach! Always fun to pull those kinds of shots off.
