mynerds 310
I recently bought a push cart and shoes (thumbs up for adidas Men's CODECHAOS 21) during the winter and broke them both out at a municipal course for the first time last week. I've previously been a walker and an athletic shoe wearer, so I was not accustomed to the massive amount of goose poop that ended up stuck to my shoes and on the wheels of the cart. I knocked what I could off but I ended up with a non trivial amount of...stuff... in the trunk of my car. Are there any tips or products you can recommend for post-round cleanups of cart wheels and spikeless shoes? My car and my wife would greatly appreciate it. 1 Quote Driver: Top Flite Tour Titanium 10.5° Wood: Nike VR S Covert Fairway Wood 3 Wood 3W 15° Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Black 60 Graphite Regular Hybrid: Burner Superfast Rescue 4 21° Irons: X-20 Irons (3-SW) Putter: White Hot Pro Balls: MaxFli SoftFli Matte White and Red Link to comment

I just use the pressure washer the guys use to clean the carts. 6 Quote Driver: Stealth Plus - 10.5*, Oban Kiyoshi Purple O4Flex-65 Grams Purred 3 Wood: SIM - 15*, Graphite Design Tour AD DJ5 Stiff Hybrid: TS3 - 19*, Hzrdus Smoke 6.0 Stiff Irons: 7 - PW T100S, 4 -6 T200 all with Nippon NS Pro 880 AMC Chrome Stiff Wedges: Vokey SM 8 - 50*, 56*, 60* Standard Wedge Shafts Putter: Phantom X 5.5 Putter: Studio Select Newport 1.5 Ball: Pro V1 & Maxfli Tour Link to comment

On sloppy days I use the cart pressure washer too, often without the pump turned on. If that wasn’t available, I’d find a water hose or air hose somewhere. If all else fails, I have a stiff brush and a small towel in my trunk that I’ve always used to clean off my shoes - surely you had to clean your shoes sometimes after walking? Bashing the shoes together knocks off a lot too. 6 Quote Callaway Rogue 10.5° & 3W Mizuno CLK 3H 19°, JPX900 Forged 4-GW, S18 56.10, S18 60.06 Evnroll ER5B Fit@TrueSpec ER2 Maxfli Tour Snell MTB-Black Ping Pioneer - MGI Zip Navigator AT Link to comment
RollingGreens 2,359
Typically the wheels aren’t too bad but I know if I steer the cart in the parking lot it cleans up quickly. Shoes in the other hand get a few good whacks to get rid off the messy stuff on the bottom 5 Quote G425 LST 10.5 Aldilla Rogue White 70s TS3 15.5 3W Fuji Speeder Tour Spec 818 H1 19deg Hybrid Fuji Atmos White JPX 921 Hot Metal 4-PW Nippon Modus 120s SM8 50,54, and 58deg Dynamic Gold Wedge Flex Spider Tour Putter Vice Pro Plus White or Titleist ProV1x Hoofer Stand Bag V8 3 Wheel Push Cart 300 PRO Rangefinder Official Nippon Regio B+ Driver Shaft Review Link to comment
Kansas King 622
Goose droppings were a challenge at my old course. The ideal solution would be if there was a relatively easy way to hose off after the round but that isn't always the case. In the past, I generally knock the chucks off the push cart with my foot then take the shoes off and whack them together until the loose stuff falls off. The other option is to embrace the dirtiness and get a cargo tray from your vehicle that is easy to remove and wash. 4 Quote Link to comment
Tom the Golf Nut 8,259
I posted this somewhere else around here. When I lived on Long Island there was a course down the street called Bergen Point. It was covered In goose droppings. We used womens disposable shower caps on the wheels of our push / pull carts. It became so popular everyone was doing it. Once you get to the parking lot take them off and toss them away. That solves the wheel issues at least. For my golf shoes I kept a plastic tote in my trunk. Shoes went in there until I got home. Either wait for them to dry and clap. You have the option to hose them off while it's still fresh but just remember to keep your mouth shut. 5 4 Quote Driver, TSi1 10* Stiff Flex 3 Wood, SLDR HL 17* R Flex 5 Wood, SLDR 19* R Flex 7 Wood, F6 22.5* R Flex 939x 5 hybrid Irons, 699 Pro's S Flex (6 - AW) JB Wedge 56* Wedge, CBX 60* Putter, Marksman Fang 35" Link to comment
mynerds 310
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I'll keep an eye out for water/air hoses but I'll probably end up getting a trunk liner and a hand held scrub brush from Home Depot. 2 Quote Driver: Top Flite Tour Titanium 10.5° Wood: Nike VR S Covert Fairway Wood 3 Wood 3W 15° Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Black 60 Graphite Regular Hybrid: Burner Superfast Rescue 4 21° Irons: X-20 Irons (3-SW) Putter: White Hot Pro Balls: MaxFli SoftFli Matte White and Red Link to comment
TR1PTIK 3,554
Simple. Lay out an old towel or blanket in the back of the car for your shoes and cart. You can clean them both thoroughly at home by whatever means you desire. 2 Quote Driver: Mizuno ST190 9.5* Aldila RIP Alpha 60 S Fairway Wood: Mizuno ST190 15* Fujikura Atmos Blue 6S Hyrbrid: Mizuno CLK 17* Fujikura Speeder EVO HB Irons: Bridgestone J40 CB (3-PW) Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Wedges: Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 54* & 58* Nippon Modus 3 105 Putter: Cleveland Huntington Beach SOFT Premier 4 34" Ball: Snell MTB-X Bag: 2017 Titleist Players 5 Stand Bag Link to comment

I have an old beach towel that I put everything on in my truck to keep things clean. 2 Quote In my carry bag: Mavrik Max 10.5* R Flex Evenflow RipTide Hy-Wood Launcher 5h D200 6i-PW CBX 54* & 58* #10 e12 Contact Link to comment

MNUte 375
An old shoe box works great for your shoes (shocking, I know ). As for the cart, the old blankets or towels that have been mentioned are the simplest solution. 2 Quote Rag tag bag, but it does the job. Taylormade R1 driver. Ping G400 3 wood. bellken 55
Air compressor if available. A spin of the wheels and a golf tee gets a fair amount of stuff off. My Clicgear 3.5+ gets put into a Ikea Fratka (large) bag to help contain the mess. 2 Quote Link to comment

I can get most of the goose poop off the cart wheels before I get to the car, but if it's particularly bad I use the hose in cart return. As for shoes a stiff nylon bristle brush works OK with maybe a little help from a spray bottle of water when the flocks of little geese show up... probably in the next month or so. 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.” Link to comment
