PMookie is headed to the Final Four!

My old HS hoops coach and I used to meet-up at each Final Four while I was in Grad School and then when I started coaching. We’d always go to the coaching clinics throughout the week to learn new stuff, but I only ever went to one of the games: Michigan State vs Florida for Izzo’s first title. I never had the money for tickets, so we’d go to the National Association of Basketball Coaches viewing party instead. Free food, free beer, and it was always hosted in a nice hotel ballroom. 
I hadn’t been to the Final Four in years and today my coach texts me he’s coming down to NOLA and has an extra ticket for Saturday’s semifinal games, could I go? I immediately COPIED AND PASTED the text to the wife, and she said “go”!!! BOOM! I’m going to see K’s last semifinal!!! Versus Carolina!!! YES!!!! So cool. Can’t wait!!!

My HS coach still owes me after 35 years for having told FIVE universities that I didn’t want to play college hoops!!! True story…

App State black and gold ok???

I’ll be wearing blue, but not Carolina blue,  Duke blue, Kansas blue, OR Villanova blue!!! Ha!

Like that Corona commerical with Vince Carter, Devin Booker, Sue Bird and some not to be named Duke guy     

I guess App State colors are fine!  You'll fit right in New Orleans kinda!

Congratulations!  I don't follow college hoops (used to years ago) and all I know is that ND beat Alabama somewhere along their journey in this years March Madness tournament .

Pretty incredible game to see live I would imagine! Was incredible to watch on TV that’s for sure.

It was a really good, quick trip! I drove down Saturday morning, getting into NOLA at lunch, and my HS hoops coach and I then went to eat lunch. We went back to the hotel to change and then walked 30 minutes to the dome. The first game wasn’t so great because of Kansas shooting so well, but you all know how great the UNC vs Duke game was!!! Absolutely awesome! I got to see Krzyzewski’s last game as a coach! Pretty cool! I took my coach out to breakfast yesterday, then I went to mass at St. Louis Cathedral before heading back home. Saturday and Sunday were absolutely perfect days for walking “the quarter”. It was a great trip, so fun!

Fantastic pictures, must have been an incredible time.  Glad you got to see Carolina prevail in what was one of the most intense games I can ever recall watching.  Litterally spent the final 4 minutes on my feet in the living room!

While you were standing up, I was sawing logs on my couch    Heck of a game though.  Hope tonight is just as good!

It was awesome, and the UNC-Duke game was unreal in-person! In our section, in the hotel, everywhere people were talking about how amazing the game was that we witnessed. Amazing.
