My add…

A lot of people feel that way.  The talent is certainly there.

I am very happy today.  In December, I got Scheffler at 40-1 to win the Masters.  Daddy needs a new driver!

To your question, of course you mean "other than Tiger ..."

Wrong…several players have done better. I’d forgotten as it’s been quite a while.

Here is the list of the best win streaks:

  • Tiger Woods, 1999-2000

5 Wins in a Row

  • Ben Hogan, 1953 (included The Masters, U.S. Open and British Open)
  • Tiger Woods, 2007-08

4 Wins in a Row

Great seeing Scheffler win. Where do people here think he takes this from here? Continues a big run for a couple of years then drops down ala Koepka, Spieth? Comes off this hot streak sooner and has normal types of ups and downs (sort of like McIlroy or Justin Thomas)? Stays elite long-term and wins 5+ majors?

We are getting the Scheffy Slam this year.  He will get all 4 of them this year.  We will see a historic run from him.  Everyone else will be wondering what hit them… maybe

All I have to do is pick him, and he won't win another tournament... like I picked Koepka to win the Masters.  😂

My guess, Another Rahm, Morikawa current top player who is on a hot streak, but not even close yet to being on the way of being an all time great.  It’s so easy to say wow this guy is going to win a ton, and he has in the last few months alone, but I don’t see him as a Phil, or Ernie etc. these guys are so young and have so much to prove and they are all close to that next level but the current sample size for Scottie is too small to say how good he’ll be in terms of his career.

I am sure players like Rory, Rahm, Thomas, Koepka, not to mention Norman, Fowler, Els, Irwin, J Miller, Kite, Trevino, Rose, etc. are mystified when someone like Scheffler seemingly comes out of nowhere (before Feb 2022) to win the most coveted major in golf. Same thing we thought after Willet, Schwartzel, Immelman, Scott, Mize and Weir won The Masters. It's probably that much harder to win majors when it's expected, especially after a couple/many near misses - unless you're Tiger, Jack, Arnie, etc...

There's no way I'd try to guess who will have THE hot hand a year from now. C Smith? Hovland? Morikawa? Cantlay? Niemann? among dozens of others.

Congrats to Scottie -  tough Sunday for him. I can't even imagine how nervous he was through the round and especially putting on 18 when he knew he had won. If he wasn't going to win my backup was Rors. He came pretty close to challenging Scottie. Having Ted on the bag probably helped him.  All in all a nail biting Sunday.

How does that work? Just take. Picture of what I said.  With a time stamp.  Ok, I’ll take my millions up front please.
