Gooch & Augusta National

... When I was in high school in North Carolina back in 1970 NOBODY played golf. There were basically 4 Private CC's and one field with some sticks they called a "muni". Looking at my 1970 yearbook the golf team played in long cuffed white pants, long sleeve button down white shirt and a black tie. If your parents were not members of a CC and wanted you to play golf, not only did you not play, you were unaware off the game completely. It was a snooty upper crust past time for the rich and the pompous. Which brings me to Taylor Gooch.

... Evidently Gooch wore shorts for his practice round and on the range but Augusta National does not allow shorts and brought him some rain pants to cover his legs. Rain Pants! Oh The Horror. Thank goodness Fred Couples came along with his devil may care approach wearing khaki pants and a big ole soft cotton polo with soft sneaker golf shoes and looked more comfortable in the hot sun and turned the game into something almost everyone could enjoy.

Tradition is just peer pressure from dead people.

Change is a good thing.  Imagine if we still had to listen to AM radio and use the seatbelts with the electric track that would move every time you put the square key into the ignition on your GM car

I absolutely agree with you - this is evolution. I, for example, am now in high school and often have to write essays, such as on poetry, which I get from here https://writix.com/essay-examples/poetry. I think that procuring essays is the most brilliant thing people have invented, many may say that it is not fair or that it is not normal like that, but it seems to me that this is the future and the development.
