berkeleybob 261
For fun, I went to Rock Bottom Golf’s site to look at clubs, then to see if I could build a decent working bag with a low price tag. I went with 12 clubs, because I can get away without a 3-wood and lob wedge. It’s a bit slim pickin’s for lefties, so some clubs are new, but I think I did alright. Driver: Mizuno ST 2000 – $185 Hybrid: Cleveland Launcher Halo 19* – $125 Irons: Wilson D7 Forged 4-PW – $700 Wedges: Cleveland CBX2 52*, 56* @$110/club – $220 Putter: Cleveland Huntington Beach #4 blade – $135 Total: $1,365.00 When I compare that with my current set, which for the most part was new when I bought it in 2018, I can’t say there’s an extraordinarily huge savings—about $300. What do you think? Could you build yourself a decent bag at the cheapest price? wely324 133
I could definitely keep it under $1000. I recently picked up a set of rac blades for $200.
blackngold_blood 6,880
Using current eBay prices. Could get lower if using golf forums. Mizuno ST190 9* Speeder Evo II $153+tax Srixon F85 5 wood Hzrdus $130+ tax Sub70 699 pro black 4-PW PX shafts $440+ tax Cleveland Zipcore Full Face 50* $122+ tax Odyssey Tuttle Stroke Lab Putter $100+ tax Thats $945 plus tax for 11 clubs that I could play(2 I already do) without skipping a beat. If you really searched I bet that could get below $900 all in easily. 1 Quote What is in my Bag Boy Revolver Driver: PXG Gen2 0811x 10.5* set to small + with a VA Composites Nemesys 55s @ 44.75" Fairway: F85 5 wood with a UST Elements Chrome 7F5 @ 41.5" Irons: Testing the Titleist T200 irons 4-W2 with Project X LZ 5.5 shaft -1/2" and 1* Up Wedge: Titleist SM7 56* with Project X LZ 5.0 shaft Putter: Custom Futura X5 flow neck with a UST Frequency Filtered shaft -1" with a SS wristlock grip
Kansas King 622
Honestly, I really like Maltby stuff. You can build a whole new Maltby bag for well under $1000 or even under $500 depending on what you choose and they would be built to your specs. I'm sure you're more referring to the more traditional OEMs. You probably won't be able to find any sets for much cheaper that new than what you put together. The only way to get way cheaper is if you include stuff like Costco wedges or used clubs but that immediately brings Maltby back into the picture for me. 1
