Hole in one

Does a hole in one on a simulator count? I was at my local simulator place and hit a hole in one on pebble #5 From 189yd. The sim workers went nuts, said it was the first they’d seen, gave our group drinks, but it doesn’t feel like a real hole in one. I was pretty proud of the shot, but I wasn’t super excited because it seemed more like getting an ace on a video game.  What do you guys think?

Short Par3 (under 100yards) on a par 3 course?  What's the ruling there?    I don't have one of those but saw a guy do it from 70 yards the other day.  Both he and I had no idea and I thought to myself. "I'm excited for the guy, but if it were me, would I feel like I actually did it or feel like I got a kiss from my sister?"

I holed out from 100 yards at the chipping practice area at Las Barrancas this past winter.  I took it as a kick in the Willy from the Golf Gods... and pretty sure I heard them saying "neener, neener, neener" .

I’d say you can, as long as you say, “Hey all, I hit a hole in one!*”

*Hole in one took place at local simulator, Pebble Beach program, hole #5, 189 yards, and therefore, is not bound to the same level nor merit of recognition of a regulation hole in one. Any resemblance to an actual hole in one is purely coincidental.

Congrats, an accomplishment, but...

A simulator doesn't include all the elements of golf (e.g. wind, grain, slope/topography), and there is no such thing as a perfect simulator anyway. So I'd call it a hole in one on a simulator. Are you asking if you should tell people you had a hole in one (at PB #5) without disclosing it was on a sim?

Ha ha. Love it. Shoulda kept the ball and framed it with this! Now I’m kinda upset I didn’t. That would have been hilarious!

I've had 2 hole in ones on the course and 2 on my simulator. The simulator hole in ones were exciting, but definitely not the same thing.
