Been thinking of building a budget autofkex! Dropping from 60x to 50s tipping and giving a go! Was that old Kai’li a flower band or an ion blue?

It was Ion blue on one side and Ion silver on the other side. Was fit for it at the Taylormade kingdom in Georgia.

My bag is a revolving door!

None. I have found many that work with my swing depending on the head.

But my 1:1 EF Blue will be my favorite shaft to own

Oh my...There are several...

The GOAT in my opinion is the Grafalloy ProLite 35...The first premium shaft that paved the way for the Speeder, Diamana BB and others.  This shaft in a Callaway Great Big Bertha was pure.  I loved that setup.

As far as my favorite ever...man...This Tensei 1K white is a contender...

Graphite Design Tour AD IZ.   Out of 10 or so shafts I tried for my current gamer, Epic Max LS, it was the only one that felt significantly different (in a good way).    I did a combined review of all the shafts I tried, here.

Graman 780 in S flex. I put it in an old Cleveland Launcher 460 Comp and It's been in my bag for over 15 years now. I use it every time I go to a demo day and I have never found a new driver with an OEM shaft that could do as well as what my old 460 Comp would do with that 780 Graman shaft. Even the Demo tech reps all told me to stick with what I have.

All my clubs are custom built with aftermarket shafts that have been spine and FLO aligned for max performance every swing.

Project X M66 Proto... Such a random find but had Don Brown suggest the proper tipping. That thing was amazing. Sadly sold it for what I thought was greener pastures, not so much.

First has to be Dynamic Gold X100 since it was in my first drivers back in the late 70s and mid-80s. It was a performer!!! Next would be the Aldila HM-40 80g shaft I had in a TM driver head. That was a great shaft for me! Lastly, Grafalloy Blue in my Cleveland Launcher 460 was amazing!

Aldila NV 65 or 75 for my woods. They always feel good, all in regular flex. I get good distance, and control I need. Recently updated a factory shaft with a Graffaloy ProLaunch 65 in reg. flex. The jury is still out...

Does anyone remember Titanium shafts? Me and my dad put one in a driver and I had it in about 3 more. That was my driver shaft for over 15 years. I loved that thing. It was heavy for a driver shaft by today's standards, but lighter than the steel shafts that were still popular in the late 90s. I could just swing as hard as I wanted and rip the ball and it would just go straight. It was amazing, I still have it in the back of the garage, not sure what I'll do with it.

It makes sense because I never got along with the YS series.  They felt very loose on the lower end. Regardless, I’d still include GD YS series in that “game changer” category of great aftermarket options from 2002-2008.

And as @Berg Ryman and @1puttparsaid. The NV and NVS are timeless and still relevant.

... You may remember that Titleist drivers had a bore thru and finding the right shaft was always difficult. The guys in the tour van's came up with a Hot Set Up where instead of trying to figure out what YS shaft was needed to go full bore, they took a shaft one flex stronger and then inserted it 1.5" only. PIA to do your self because you either had to cut the shaft at the top of the hosel and then drill down 1.5" or pull the shaft and then insert the new shaft 1.5" and install a piece of a shaft as a plug thru the bottom and then either sand the end or use an old Titleist bore thru shaft and just cut the tip off and use it as a plug. But the reward was an awesome driver shaft combo that had more pop than a full bore thru. YS7 was much more popular on tour but some played the YS6. Those were fun days!

I remember it fondly.

I was a full bore guy and at one point played a UST ProForce 75X at 44” with the full bore in a 975D because I liked the feel better than the LFE and JVS.  It was stout and it would absolutely drive the ball.

I just got fit with a Oban Purple in a TM Stealth and picked up over 20 yards. Honestly, it's the shaft and just goes to show me that a correct shaft makes all the difference.

... Awesome, and I completely agree that the correct shaft makes all the difference!  If you are in the right profile shafts for your swing, a new one is not going to add more than a few yards, if any. But sooooooo many are in the wrong profile shafts for their swings and a fitting can certainly add 20 yds or more. Of course forum members sometimes stumble into a perfect fit, especially us shaft ho's. 🤪
