Been keeping my stats on this app recently and what it’s been able to show is that my overall game is better than my handicap says atm but fall along way short in approach shots (100-250yrds). Anyone else’s game look like this & been able to improve that area

That's a huge range!  IT seems like your iron play is (comparatively) poor, your short game and driving are OK.  What differentiates driving from irons?  Ideally driving the ball you have a slightly upward angle of attach, but slightly downward for irons.  My first thought would be to look at ball position and set up, angle of attack will change based on placement of the ball forward or back.  But there are tons of other potential issues, you're not going to find your answer here.  This is where professional help should come in.

If you're a 4 handicap, you likely know that you probably need to spend some time with an actual pro.

What app are you using?  And, are you saying that anything you hit from 100-250 yards is falling short or that anything from 100-250 yards is where your game needs to improve or that any approach shot you hit is missing the green by 100-250 yards?  Sorry, just looking for some clarity before I can respond as they are three distinct issues.
