Introduce Your “Home” Course

Greetings, please advise if this exists elsewhere on the forum. I thought it would be cool to see where my fellow spies call “home” for golf.

My “home” course is Radisson Greens in Balwinsville, NY. It is an 18 hole par 72 course that plays at 6360 yards from the White Tees. If you’re adventurous you can play the Blue Tees at 7010 yards. The course is a Robert Trent Jones Senior design. It’s very tree lined and tight in spots. I know folks say trees are 95% air but I seem to always find 100% tree.

For the last 8 years it was Inwood CC on Long Island.  Now that I am mostly full time in VA I play out of Royal New Kent in Providence Forge, VA.  Course is a Mike Strantz design and plays a shade under 7,500 yards off the back tees with a slop and rating of 76.8/154. Fun place that always seems to play a bit differently with each  round and certainly a challenge.  For the membership cost it is really hard to beat and a welcome change from what I was paying up north.  I would post some pictures but I can't do the course justice with my terrible photography skills, so here are a few stock photos.

Just a bit. Tough when the pin is back but not too bad when it is in the front.

They put the pin in the front?  Most of the time I have played it, the pin is middle or back.  And it is a long putt when the pin is back and you are on the front.

It will be there tomorrow if they don't change them and not as long of a putt as 12 if you are on the front and the pin is back. 12th green is almost 40 yards (yes, yards) deeper than 7.

12 is just a giant green.

My Home Course is a public gem here in the Philly suburbs.  Jeffersonville Golf club is an original Donald Ross design that opened in 1931 that is owned and operated by our township.  As I live in the township I am one of the privileged few that can buy an annual pass.  Here are a few of my pics I've taken though the past couple of years.  If you wanna see more profession shots then go here:

Nice looking course. Love the pictures in the mist. I used to play Harding Park in San Francisco, well before it was upgraded to its current condition. We’d frequently tee of in the fog and weren’t exactly sure where our drives landed. Nice head covers

I am a muni guy.  Play at the Charleston Municipal Golf Course, Charleston, SC.  Seth Raynor type greens and bunkers.  A real challenge.  Has been rated by Golf.com as number 19 muni in the US.  Probably will do 75,000 rounds this year.  No Laying Up YouTube did a nice review on our course. The day they played the course, we must have had one to two inches of rain.  They were interesting to talk to.  Though I might share their comments.

I’m in the area and need to book a time at the muni. I’m in Summerville so I play berkeley most of the time but I’ve heard great things on the muni.

I play primarily at Valley View GC outside of Saginaw MI. Nice course, easy on us walking seniors, just over 6200 and very easy on the pocketbook as well. Family owned and most of the relatives can be seen working on the course daily. That kind of a family operation.

Winnipeg Manitoba Canada , check it out ! Tree lined all throughout but the back nine makes  you have your A game ! It’s a walker , generally 3.5 to 3.75 to play 18 at a comfortable pace . Greens are smallish and very deceptive .
