Nayrrenrag
I’ve been playing for a couple years now and have slowly pieced together a full bag, but the last thing I need to “upgrade” are my fairway woods. As much as I’d love to upgrade everything to brand new, I am a broke college kid who wants to play more consistently and snags deals where he can. What are y’all’s favorite Fairways to play that won’t necessarily break the bank? gavinski91
Seems like a 5W would overlap with the 3 iron utility. I agree though that an older generation Cobra (F8 or F9) would be a great pickup. GolfSpy_APH
You can add me to the Cobra F series... but I'm going to recommend the F7 series. Even older, but I have both the 3 and 7 woods and love them both. Big reason these are being suggested is they are technically "easier" to hit fairways with the rails on the bottom. These usually help with turf interaction and make them slightly more playable out of more conditions. These fairways also have a bit of a cult following, but because they are 5 or so series old they should be available for great prices. Few other benefits are they have different hosel settings for loft and draw bias which is an added benefit. Some, but not all callaway fairways have hosel adjustability. Either way hard to go wrong with the F series, whether it be the 7/8/9. The F6 is another potential options, but doesn't have the rails and was a little before Cobra really started to hit their stride with this series of fairways. revkev, russtopherb, sirchunksalot and 2 others 5 Quote as of Nov 6, 2023 (Past WITB) Driver: Paradym TD w/ GD ADDI 6X Driver Shootout! thegolfgal
If you are going to buy new fairway woods I have to say the Titleist TSi 2's are by far the best fairway woods I have ever hit. They are over 200.00 per club. now you can go to https://www.rockbottomgolf.com/golf-clubs/fairway-woods/ and there are plenty of Tour Exotics for under 200 bucks and they are very good clubs. chfd098
I just grabbed a Callaway 2017 Steelhead Xr of their preowned site for $70. I went with a 4 wood to replace both my 3 and 5 woods since I had cracked the face on my 3 wood and was considering dropping the 5 wood in favor of another wedge anyway. Just went out to the range to test it this week and I am super pleased. The ball flight is beautiful and it is easy to hit off the deck or off a tee. Worth looking at their sight. Replaced Nike Ignite t-60 woods too by the way, which I had been playing for 15+ years, but they flew great and were easy to hit with small heads.
