Major OEM absence from testing???

Y'know, I thought it was just me but I would have thought we would have started hearing stuff about the Cobra Connect Challenge by now if it was still being held (which after last year, I can see being up in the air). But yeah, usually by now there would have been some stuff from folks like Cleveland, Wilson/Staff, etc.

Glad you brought it up Paul! 

Tough to not notice IMO. Plenty of stuff out there and was just looking at Cobra to get a RadSpeed hybrid...Majority of shafts were available (only 1 that I could tell and that was the stiff HZRDUS smoke black). Doesn't look like material.

For sure! It’s June and nothing major, and for OEMs like you mention we’ve always been included. So odd. I wonder what’s going-on…

My guess is that supply chain issues for shafts, grips and potentially heads are still a concern for the brands and they aren’t going to give away stock for testing over paying customers.

If there weren't multiple testing opportunities currently underway with other forums, I would have thought this was the case as well. However...

Granted I have only barely looked at wrx and haven’t looked at any other forums to see what they are doing but only big name I recall seeing there is cobra.

With that said it’s possible that due to supply chain issues they are limiting where they send testing opportunities too based on roi of the reviews.

Tbh since the change in how the reviews here have been done other than the cobra challenge and maybe one other review last year I basically haven’t read any of them. If it’s not in the unread posts/threads I don’t go looking for them and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s happens more often with other member and non members. 
 

Good, bad or indifferent the membership activity on this forum while it’s grown is still pretty small compared to others.

The August/September timing makes sense because a lot of product is released around that time. I know that a new iteration of the Mizuno JPX line is expected then and Bridgestone released their JGR then when we tested them 4 odd years ago.

Jamie thanks for taking the time to share that with us. I can see OEMs wanting to spread tests out across the year, especially when you have multiple places that may be running them at the same time. This way there's eyes on the reviews throughout the year, which makes sense from a traffic perspective from their point of view. Plus, it seems like it's been staying warmer later in the year, at least up here in the northeast, which helps to prolong testing windows for some parts of the US.

Actually it’s not @GolfSpy_APH that has direct communication.  It’s @GolfSpy_THV 

Jamie was just trying to help out after the original post. By giving an update as he knew. 
 

It’s mainly due to the fact the forum staff only administers the testings.  We really don’t even know Whsts coming until often the day before the forum post goes up, even if they much. 

HQ has heard our desires and concerns—several times—but it appears it will remain the status quo for now.   We truly don’t know what is in the works and when.
