mcwhiteh
I came across someone selling 2010 victory red blades, new vokey's, and 2 i15 hybrids for a rediculously low price. Should i be concerned? lol. Of course I would make sure they were real before even considering a purchase but for the price he's selling them for I really think they might be stolen. mcwhiteh
yeah...just recently getting a new bettinardi and adidas 4.0 360s might make it very easy to say no, I still want to see them though. My gut feeling is they are real but stolen. oh there's a Scotty in there too but Im not interested in that
mudfish
sounds sketchy... but then again, I need new clubs, and have no money... I'd just see what kind of vibe the guy is giving off first... That would be best case scenario. Otherwise, seems a little too good to be true. I hope not though. Maybe you could ask for pictures of the serial numbers? SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 13, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 13, 2010 Meet in a public place. Clubs probably have serial numbers. Not sure who you check with though to see if they are hot. Just be very careful. Sometimes these deals do exit and not with stolen goods. I'll snagged more than a few. But buyer beware. Google search victory red counterfeiting just to see if there any hits. Buy the Cameron too, btw, then flip it to cover part of the iron cost. Matt Saternus
This sounds like a craigslist deal to me (just a guess). The one thing I like about craigslist (at least for any transaction I've done) is that it's all done in person so you can see what you're getting before you shell out any cash. Addicted2Golf
What's the ridiculously low price? I guess the answer it depends how low. Discounted is one thing. Off the back of a truck or out of someone's bag at the bag drop cheap is another. Yeah, I'll pass on Craigslist. Doing deals with golfers would be better than most with the general public, but I'd still prefer the arms length approach that Ebay offers. There are some scary, deranged people out there. Addicted2Golf
Get serial numbers and check with original manufacturer. Like the old saying goes: If you have to ask.... Or Caveat Emptor I agree but serial numbers are now being spoofed. All it takes is for a counterfeiter to get a legit serial number and then start using it on all their clubs. It takes a while for the OEMs to catch up. That is why some sellers on Ebay won't provide serial numbers unless you ask them for it and sometimes not even then. I think you missed my point. Legit sellers don't want to help the counterfeiters out by providing serial numbers out in the open. I've been selling on Ebay for a decade now and have sold a lot of Ping stuff in particular. I used to provide serial numbers in the description. I don't do that anymore. I say "serial numbers available by request". If its an Asian buyer or someone of questionable reputation, then I don't provide them the numbers. I don't ship overseas anyway so I rarely lose potential bidders doing that. It would be a great way to meet women with similar interests and much cheaper than a dating service. One of you single guys can just thank me later...
