Best Golf Hat?

Playing in Florida and sweating profusely has left me having to wash my hats after every round. Any suggestions on hats that won’t show sweat or products to lower sweat stains?

I know Melin has a bit of a cult following but wanted to get other ideas before possibly shelling out $70.

Any and all ideas are welcome!

Never had that problem so I haven’t tried them but FWIW search (golf) hat sweat liners - lots of choices from a couple bucks to next to nothing per. And of course medium to dark hats don’t show sweat stains like white hats do (until they dry?).

Hmmm on my dark hats I can see white stains (salt from the sweat) on the forehead.

If you are sweating that much, I think it's just more hygienic to do a quick wash... I just grab them by the bill, tunk them 5 times in soapy water, rinse and hang. Takes 3 minutes max. And with such temperatures, they'll be dry by the following day.

If you find one let me know! When I was younger my much older BIL used to say "how is it 90* out here and I'm drenched and you don't have a drop of sweat on you?" Now that I'm his age, I sweat profusely on the range and during a round, to the point I ring my hats out when I get done! So far I have never found a hat that doesn't get sweat stains all over them. Again, If you find one, I'll buy 10 of them!

It's so hot and dry here that I sweat and it evaporates quickly.  Stains do happen though, but hey aren't so bad when I keep my hat wet all day.  I soak it at the clubhouse before the 1st tee, and then again at each water jug on the course... tees on #5, 8, 13, and 16.  The icy water feels good on our 100+ degree days.  The hat is almost dry before the next water jug.

I need your suggestion. What do you think about karl jacobs accessories. For my husband, I want to purchase a gift. To do so, I am researching it.

Imperial hats are very good quality. I also like to generic titleist hats. The white and gray are really easy to clean. I did find that you have to be careful with the blue as I’ve had it turn orange in spots before

I think the Imperial True Fit Performance hats are the best.  They can be rinsed off in the sink and dry quickly

Check out some of the Tilley offerings.  Not all fabrics will do what you want though.

I have one I love, the brim keeps the sun off my ears and the rain off my neck.

These work well in drier climates, or in temperatures where you're only sweating a little. I use them in all of my hats here in Colorado. However, I just got back from a trip to the MS Gulf Coast where it was 100+ and very humid. It was completely saturated with sweat within minutes, was uncomfortable to wear, and fell out eventually because it was so heavy. Unless you want to change them out every few minutes, I wouldn't recommend them in Florida.

I'd probably try a fishing hat from Costa or Huk. Maybe the straw hats with wide brims. They keep you cooler with the extra shade they provide, are generally pretty breathable, and the straw won't really absorb sweat or show stains.

If you are looking for a sun protection hat - I just got the Imperial Old Norse. I have had skin cancer 6 times and it works great at blocking the sun and the white color doesn’t show any sweat stains. It was 111 here today and it worked great.

I have one of those and I wet it before I play and it's a lot cooler than a regular hat.

How can he breathe. You clogged up his pores with bug spray for years! By the way thank you for making me spend money this morning. I looked up that hat and after reading the bucket hat thread I ordered one this morning (while I am hard at work of course).

Well, he snorts bug spray, so that's on him. However, he doesn't allow any air to circulate around my dome and I sweat like a you know what in a you know where.
