What wedge are you playing around the greens for different shots?

Keep the wedges in the bag.  Use any club that will get the golf ball in the air over the fringe and onto the green as soon as possible.  Keep the stroke very simple no wrist break (like a putting stroke).  The backswing is short with a good follow through.  Depending on how much green there is to work with the club will vary.  Sometimes what is needed may be a #9 iron, or a #7 iron, or a hybrid.  A longer distance may be a fairway wood.  A golfer will have better results by keeping the stroke simple and compact and to vary the clubs for the ball to go different distances.  If you are using a wedge you have to think about the wind conditions and how soft or hard the green is to hold with a lofted club and how long of a backswing.

Had been playing Callaway PM 54 & 58 degree wedges since '19. Really, really love them. Replaced my older Callaway 50* gap wedge with an Edison 49*. Liked it so much I just added another Edison wedge to my bag. Really, REALLY like these Edison wedges!

I've always stuck to one wedge in and around the greens, the 60 degree wedge. I find it very tedious and boring to have to remember the different rolls that different degree wedges get. So I just dumb it down to one wedge and just sort of remember how much roll it gets on a bump and run, on a pitch shot, etc.

Lately I have been experimenting with several wedge combos. I am a wedge ho and have bunches of wedges. Normally I am an old 588 man but lately they have went cold. I am also fond of the old forged Vokey 252 258 series and am currently experimenting with about 4 of them with different lofts and bounces. In fact in a few I am going out on a dew sweeper vintage experimental round and I have 2 different Vokey set ups in my vintage/ experimental bag along with 2 different V- Steel 5 woods different shafts. I finally got the PW dialed in with distance and flight by going to a wedge that does not match my irons per say but was in that set when I found them. With my overall swing changes my beloved 588s may not fit me any more. I have many options between the old Wilson JPs , Wilson Harmonized and Hogan. Hogans both vintage and TK 15s. I also have a plethera of Cally wedges including a PM

1.) 52* bump and run. I try and land it half way and let it feed near the hole.

2.) putter or 60* ball played back of the stance.

3.) 60* rough will take the spin off the ball so it'll be like a bump and run.

4.) 60* get it up in the air and try and have it land soft.

5.) 56* regular setup.

6.) 56* open club face ball further up.

7.) 52* or PW regular setup.

8.) PW* open club face forward in the stance.

9.) 60* half swing. I make sure to make solid contact and hit through the ball not hit the ball. Should be able to have the ball check up.

10.) 60* pick a spot where i want the ball to land and have it release to the hole.
