Chrome refurbishing HELP!

Recommended Posts

Hi

i have been refurbishing old sets recently. Using deburring wheel / polishing and reshafting / paint etc. everything has been great but on this recent set I think I took too much off and stripped some of the chrome. I’m guessing that is the case because after I polished there is some spotty shine parts to it and not sure how to get it out and fix. Any help would be great!

If it were me I'd be taking the affected heads off the shafts and looking for a local plating company to rechrome them.  I'd be asking the local "speed shop" or motorcycle customizing shop where they send their stuff and go from there.

If you have removed some chrome you could using a stitched sisal  wheel with black rouge and bring the club head to a bright polish.

However the owner needs to know it will rust in time without some TLC.

Or a suggested above send it to a place that does rechroming for a living.

Driver - 44.5" 5.0 flex 10.5 deg Graphite Design XC 6S GP MCC4+ 1 deg closed

Irons - 5-pw, GW stnd length 5.0 flex same grip 1 deg flat. Type low medium offset cavity back, no diggers

Wedges - 56 and 60 tour grind wedge spinner and mcc4+ grip 2 flat 10 and 8 in bounce

Putter - Makefield VS LH

Ball - truvis

Carried in a Sun Mountain C-130 USA bag - BE PROUD.

HC - LH but 85 is a good number, playing in Ohio.

Also, if you're not talking about blades or players CB clubs, then the club likely has a backing plate in the cavity and those can be difficult to remove without damaging them and you can't re-chrome without taking those off.  They are also usually impossible to acquire so if you break it you'll likely be out of luck.
