fixyurdivot
I was watching the USGA Junior Amateur event this past weekend and noted a couple of players using those silver outside/black inside umbrellas. I've seen those before and started looking into them as a possible replacement for the black one I use that doubles from the car. It's handle length is a bit short mounted in my push cart holder, and at 6'2", I'm having to hunch under it. So, I'm in the market for an umbrella tailored for use on a push cart. What are you guys using and are the silver reflective type worth it? I stumbled onto this link/review, but the source is a bit suspect BEST GOLF UMBRELLA 2022 | MyGolfSpy sirchunksalot 1 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review) AI-One Milled Seven T CH (Currently Under Product Test)
Kenny B
I saw a guy today that had one of the silver reflective to and black underneath. Looked pretty cool. I have 2 TaylorMade umbrellas that I bought at our local golf store BOGO sale in the trunk of my car at all times; the logo on them says Burner, so you know how long I've had them. One is like new... Martha's; the other is somewhat used... mine. I've used mine for shade but almost never for rain. Hey! It's a desert here! I thought about using it today, but I was only walking a few holes, and I have found that in the mornings umbrellas trap the humidity underneath and there is no cooling effect from walking... not a breath of air today!! fixyurdivot and sirchunksalot 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
MattF
I have a Procella that is black outside and the reflective silver on the inside. I was thinking it might be designed for more even heating/tanning? I do see a few offerings like this but it defies gravity. 11 hours ago, EasyPutter said: Next trick is to slip the big umbrella into the bag whenever I go on course, forgot it today and waiting for players ahead wished I had it with me for shade. Stood well away from my ball middle of the fairway under trees in the rough a while. Yes, my intended use is primarily shade. I'm often walking the tree line even when my ball is in the fairway. If I'm playing really well, I can position my ball favored towards the shade side... no, really, I can . I suppose the heat rises and already up there it goes where I am not and the shade is total penumbra. So until I take another look at fixing the delicate and cute one I will stick with the black monster that really is versatile for sun, wind and rain protection. And to be honest I really don't abuse it but I also don't go very easy on it. Hope you find a good one and size does matter! Did I ever mention here on the forum how much I hate playing in the rain?
