mynerds
Good luck to all, and thanks Cobra, MGS, and Rob for putting this together! This is a heck of a contest, to say the least. Which Model? I picked the Forged Tec X Irons as they match closely in both forgiveness and swing weight of the LTDx's I was able to play with during a fitting. The Forged Tec X seems to straddle the line between game-improvement and players distance, and would serve as an iron to grow into as my game improves. Further, I've only ever played graphite shafts in my irons and would enjoy the opportunity to game and compare steel shafts that I think of as being reserved for "stronger" and "better" players. If living up to the expectations of your clubs isn't reason enough to make you hit the gym and practice greens, I don't know what is! In short, I think the Forged Tec X irons punch above their weight class. I'd love to see if they'd help me do the same. Name: Mark - Batavia, IL Current Irons: Callaway X-20 Irons (5-SW), stock graphite shafts. Handicap: No official handicap for me yet, but unofficially trending to 22, down from an alleged 45+ early this year. Can the Forged Tec X Irons help push me sub 20 by the end of the year? Agree to participate in discussing their performance? Of course! I've had a blast this year writing official reviews, unofficial reviews, and tracking my improvement progress. Cobra really won me over with the LTDx driver this year, and I'd love to dive in on more of their products. rkj427, Vegan_Golfer_PNW, MyWifesSwingCoach and 3 others 6 Quote Driver: LTDx Max 10.5°, MCG C6 Red 50 R Wood: LTDx Max 3W 15.5°, MCG C6 Red 50 R Hybrid: TS2 4H 23°; 5H 25°, Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Black 60 Graphite Regular Irons: LTD (5-9); Vista PRO 60i R Wedges: Milled Grind 3 - 54.11 (56°), Milled Grind 3 - 60.10; Vista PRO 60i R Putter: White Hot Pro 1 / 2-Ball Ten Armlock Bag: Supreme Cart Bag 2022 Balls: Tour Reviews: Spornia SPG8 XL Net (Official), Me and My Golf Full Body Freedom (Unofficial), Club Champion Full Bag Fitting (Unofficial), Gravity Caddy (Unofficial)

Read about them Here in My Golf Spy's First Look piece. These irons are stunning looking and in the case of the Forged Tec X are packed with enough help for the player that handicaps from scratch to 20 can probably play them. Cobra is going to give one lucky Forum Member a chance to win a set of their choice, you will be able to choose between Forged Tec Forged Tec X Entering will require a little research and work on your end, but it's well worth it to get a chance to put these in your bag. To Enter you must be a registered member of the forum. Then complete ALL of the steps below: First Head to the Cobra website https://www.cobragolf.com/golf-clubs/irons Research both irons and select which set you'd like Build a set (using any no upcharge options) and take a screen shot and post it in this thread. That's it. A big Thank You to Cobra for providing this opportunity! A winner will be selected by August 12th and notified in this thread and via PM. Good Luck! PMookie
I would definitely go with the King Forged Tec because they would be most similar to my Srixon irons, and they have a reduced offset, and thinner topline than the X. Performance-wise, I think I’d be looking to get more forgiveness than my Srixons, and likely a little more ball speed. I’m not hitting many greens with the Srixons, so I’m looking for some help there! I’ve always wanted to try Cobra irons against my gamers because Cobra is putting-out some great looking product that performs, according the reviews I’ve read. ChitownM2
I'd go with the Forged Tec X because I think the extra forgiveness would benefit my game the most and I've never tried a hollow body iron but have been very curious about them. I absolutely love the looks of these as they are just the right size and hide all of the technology very well. The idea of playing a game improvement club that others might mistake as a players iron is very appealing. Plus, I can’t help but imagine that they’re just confidence inducing once held in your hands and standing over a ball. - List your first name/city state (US Only entries): Mike in Charleston, SC - What current irons you're playing: PING G425 irons - Handicap: 14 - Will you agree to patriciate in discussions on the forum about your experience with the irons after receiving them: for this, absolutely, yes! Hey, if one other member got something good out of it then I count that as a win! Cobra's Irons are under-appreciated, especially in the hollow body category in my opinion. cksurfdude, MDGolfHacker, Vegan_Golfer_PNW and 4 others 7 Quote Epic Max LS 10.5 - Motore X F3 6X | Speedzone 5-wood - Ventus Blue 8S | TSi3 20* Hybrid - KBS Proto 85S SMS Pro 4-PW - Steelfiber i110S | MG3 Raw Black 50.09, 54.11, 58.11 - DG TI S200 ER2B | Pro V1x | NX9 Slope | Jones Trouper R | CaddyLite EZ v8
TheProfessor02
I opted for the Tec X as the marketed extra forgiveness will hopefully improve my approach play. Performance wise I would really like to see these irons push my approach played strokes gained stats to closer resemble my driving SG around an 18 HCP. Hobert
I chose the KING Forged Tec X Irons as I need all of the forgiveness I can get as I work to improve my game. In addition, the Tec X irons seem to be somewhat similar to the Sub70 699s that I currently game and have worked well for me since I purchased them this past Spring. I look forward to seeing how the Tec X irons could help aid my improvement efforts. Jim / Winston-Salem, NC Sub 70 699 / 6699 Pro combo set ~40 I would welcome the opportunity to thoroughly discuss my impressions of the KING Forged Tex X irons after receiving and playing them. Dawg061
Thank you Cobra and MGS for this opportunity! Explain why you chose the model you did and what you'd hope to get out of them performance wise I don't hit my current irons as good as I used to, so going with the Forged Tec X should give me that extra forgiveness I need when I'm not finding the middle of the face with every swing. After never having any experience with Cobra clubs, I've seen them grow in popularity and my son loves his Cobra clubs. Based on his feedback and performance, I expect these will be plenty long and forgiving, and it'd be nice to experience a forged feel in the irons. I hope that by finally updating my irons to one of the best offerings on the market, I can regain some confidence and distance and get back to really enjoying this game we all love. List your first name/city state (US Only entries) Elbert and I live in Ellijay, GA What current irons you're playing I'm playing old Ping Zing irons. Handicap I currently play at an 18 handicap. Will you agree to patriciate in discussions on the forum about your experience with the irons after receiving them? Absolutely! I'm looking forward to being more involved with the forum beyond just being in the fantasy golf league. I'm playing more golf than ever and would be able to provide a ton of feedback for other golfers who are interested in the irons and those who have questions. goaliewales14
Explain why you chose the model you did and what you'd hope to get out of them performance wise The prior generation of Forged Tec irons were too large, fly too high, and don't have enough workability. Those appear to be now the Forged Tec X irons. The Forged Tec should be close to my current irons. While they should be close to my current irons, I'm hoping to get just a bit more forgiveness that my current irons. I would also hope to see the feel improved with the 5x forging and new foam technology.
