This was a great follow guys. I’m hoping next year I can plan the family vacation to Vermont/NH(wife wants to go for some reason) around the same time as the outing and make a slight detour for a couple days lol.

Inquiring minds want to know. It wasn't a battle between the cottages, it was a slaughter I threw a dart to 4' in the darkness. They were lucky to  even get on the green. Sandbagger?  We'll @Getoffmylawn shot a 94 yesterday then turned around and shot an 81 today.  Good thing I didn't make any side bets with him Only one ball I believe went in the water on the first hole yesterday. Name withheld to protect the innocent...

Foe the record, my ball didn't hit the water, my ball was duck hooked into the tall grass on the left and due to tick/chiggers avoidance I decided that discretion was the better part of valor

Ahh..my bad! So no balls in the water on the first hole. I saved those shots for later in my round on the par 3 16th. Put one in the drink on hole 10 today

I've got a Fuji XT3 and a bunch of lenses, and the thing's video quality is stellar.  So switching back and forth between video/photos is what it's designed for.  As long as I have enough memory cards and batteries, shooting most of the day isn't an issue.  I'd also bring my iPhone for 240fps slo-mo shots of everyone on the first tee (as an idea) so that we could compile a "best of trip moments" video.  If said person (me, in this imaginary instance) was in a cart, zipping back and forth between groups wouldn't be so much a chore as a blast, and setting up on a few select picturesque holes to grab some interstitial video/commentary with the players would be super fun.

I want to thank everyone for making this event. It took a commitment back in April to put it on the books and make it.  Life isn’t always that easy…as I found out. Ha

we will definitely do this again.  And I’m thinking a bit earlier in the season thinking of you @Getoffmylawn  That will all come in good time. 

But please join me in standing (virtually) and giving @MDGolfHacker @Berg Ryman And @cnosil for all answering my last minute call for help and to handle things on site.   The fact the place didn’t burn down (thankfully someone didn’t give @tommc23 a light for that stogie, the fact that nobody decided to go skinny dipping in the Chesapeake Bay is a win all the way around.    But seriously thanks to those guys making things go as smoothly as the did on site.

Again a big thanks to Rob Jose & Ryan for organizing and running things so smoothly.

It was great meeting everyone, playing partners were fantastic, the courses were in great shape and the fitting experience was really fun!

Sorry for getoffmylawn being stuck with me for two days, he must have lost a bet.

My golf muscles are only used to 9 holes a week so back to back 18's has me starting my recovery process beginning with 30 min on the inversion table....followed by some hot tub time.

So, as I told the boys, I didn't go all the way back home tonight, I stopped over at Mohegan Sun near Wilkes-Barre in PA. I think I needed to make up for my play with some winnings, and I think I turned my 340 bucks into some good.

As mentioned, @MDGolfHackerwas the hero for the cottage sticking it to 4 feet.    The best part of the cottage battle was when we were walking to the green to try and find our balls (never found mine) the other cottage guys asked if we were all friends to which I responded (Jose, correct me if this isn't exactly right) I guess, we all just met each other yesterday.

My score looks much better as a total than the individual holes scores.  My back 9 was:

double, birdie, bogey, birdie, quad, par, birdie, par, triple  

 

Was pretty hot and ran out of steam on 14.   Got a little second wind and then totally fell apart again to close out the round.

Now that I am back home, gotten a little dinner and a shower to cool off after a very hot/humid round of golf I wanted to post my thoughts on the weekend.  

Unfortunately, some things were just not family/PG rated so they will go unmentioned.   

Many of us are on the forum pretty regularly and we see the screennames, are friendly (for the most part), and have lots of things in common.   But none of that compares to actually getting a group of people together to play some golf,  hang out, and just spent some time BS'ing.  If you have an opportunity to get out and meet some of our fellow forum members and play a round or two of golf.   We've seen some other get togethers and I am sure they can confirm what I am saying.    It also isn't about how good or bad you play so even if you aren't a great golfer,  still go!  

Even though I just got home,  I am ready to pack my bags and meet up with this great group of guys and tee it up again and play a round with some of the guys I didn't get a chance to play with.

If you use an iPhone… using live photo and taking the picture at the top of the swing usually works out pretty good!

That’s a way to cap off a great weekend.  Funny that place is a place I’ve thought would be a good location for a wekend like this.  Always wanted to go there.
