550025KV
Just turned 69 and I'm moving it 240-245. I can still get a few past 255 every round. That's measured using my Bushnell GPS watch. I just upgraded drivers from 9° Mav SubZero to 9° Epic Speed and kept my same Matrix Ozik White Tie 60 Reg flex shaft. Set at N-S and playing the TaylorMade TP5x. 2 Quote Mav SubZ 9° Mav SubZ 14.5° Mav SubZ 16° Mav 4hy Apex CF19 5- AW Hogan Equalizer 54° Cleveland 58° Odyssey StrokeLab 7s TaylorMade TP5x Link to comment

garyt1957
Do most of you guys follow the advice of going up in loft as you age? I've tried 12* and 14* drivers and all they do for me is go higher and shorter. I'm getting my best distance with an 8* Wishon 919. 1 Quote Link to comment
Bang60
I did this too lofts 12 14deg just went higher, I've since bought a Mizuno MP Type 2 Driver head std loft 9.5 but set at 8.5 and my ave drive is 220metres, the ball is much lower than before with a penetrating flight. Nope, I went one lower than standard on the connector for my SIM 2 MAX D (10.5). But it did come with a Airspeeder shaft which is supposed to be high launch and mid spin. So to better address your question I think you need to address the shaft profile along with head loft.. 3 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300 Link to comment

Rickp
I’m soon to be 76 and 210 yards is about maxed out. I think if we were still in CT would be 10-15 yards further. I'm waiting for the irrigation system to be turned off for the winter and the fairways to dry out a little bit. The only problem is that as it gets colder I have to wear more layers which impedes my swing!! 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.” Link to comment

Middler
I’m 68 and until recently I averaged 240 with a few 260-270 drives. But I got tired of looking for my ball in the weeds (the deep rough at my home course is knee high this time of year), and consciously slowed my swing down a couple months ago. I’ve given up about 20 yards with all clubs, but I’m hitting more fairways and greens and scoring better while saving money on new balls. There doesn't seem to be a chart that correlates altitude to golf ball distance - but the rule of thumb seems to be 10%. I have to believe that all things being equal - swing, club, etc,, the ball is going to carry substantially more than 10% in Denver's altitude and dry air, over Tampa's sea level and humid temps. My issue with drives is more consistency ; swing speed and contact. In the same round I can have a range of 165 to 200 yds. (discounting wind). 3 1 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300 Link to comment

The only reason I'm wearing shorts today is there is no wind. However, I have a few more layers on top that I know will affect my swing. I'm going to call this a practice day... getting used to the extra clothes for the cooler weather ahead!! 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.” Link to comment

Caddie1966
North Texas is still warm, but I play a lush course without a lot of roll. I’m 69. Play a 9.5 degrees Titleist driver set at 8.75 to guard against over draws. I avg about 265. Can still get it out to 290-295 on occasion. When the Bermuda goes dormant and we are dry, I will see some out over 300. 2 Quote Titleist driver and hybrid. Callaway 3 wood. PXG irons. Odyssey putter. Ping Wedges Link to comment
