GolfSpy_CS stepping down

Hello Spies!

I am announcing that I will be stepping down from my role as one of the forum moderators.  I have had a blast volunteering and serving this forum community.  I’ve been on several other golf forums over the past 15yrs and this one is the only one I’ve stuck with and call home.

We just had one of our most valuable coworkers take an amazing new job elsewhere and myself and one other person are going to have to take up those responsibilities for the foreseeable future.  As such, I cannot in good faith commit to the time needed to do this job to the level the forum deserves. 

I will be using the new handle “DriverBreaker” and will still be involved with the forum.  I hope to play golf in the near future with some of you in the Raleigh/Durham area!  Let’s make it happen!

Tony thank you for all that you did in your time as a mod, countless hours on calls, hundreds of messages back and forth about various bits of everything. 

It's been a pleasure to work with you and I wish you all the best moving forward with your work and family. 

Tony so everyone knows did a ton of backend data gathering and made invaluable spreadsheets to aid in keeping us organized for testing and so much more.

Thanks, it’s not really a new job/role, just picking up extra work for the person who left.  You know, standard “Oh you’ve done such a good job, how about you all do the extra work the other person did in addition to your job!” stuff. Lol

Thanks for all your hard work @DriverBreaker - you and the other mods have done a great job herding us cats. Now as to your screen name is that an indication of what you do to your drivers? Maybe too much swing speed?

I'm going out on a limb here, but aren't you supposed to use the face of the driver, not the crown, to hit the ball?

Yeah….. I hear that’s how you’re supposed to do it….

In all seriousness, it started as a crack and, for science, I decided to see what would happen if I kept hitting it.  This is the result.  Each time I hit it the hole gets bigger!

Fun part is that it now whistles in the waggle and backswing. I’m sure some company will put a hole in it and come up with some crazy new technology marketing idea.  “When it whistles, you’re activating the power!”

First off thanks for your work here. As far as a hole in a driver some company did that about 25 years ago with holes in the face which the USGA promptly banned. It was not a mainstream company though but one of those fly by night clone head outfits. In fact I may have one of those heads in a box of the old Golf shop stuff.

I remember that driver.  I played with a guy that used it.
