Here's the chart I was talking about, it's from 2020 I believe after the JPX21 line was released.  I think it will hold true to the current Mizumo Pro and JPX23 lineup as well.  With the addtion of the Hot Metal HL probably being slotted at the very top right after the Hot Metal.

For those who haven't followed the Mizuno naming convention going from MP to Mizuno Pro they would be

MP20 MB = Mizuno Pro 22

MP20 MMC = Mizuno Pro 223

MP20 HMB = Mizuno Pro 225

I thought you were going to say he should go Forged.  Because when he decides on the next new shiny toy in 2 months you can get the Mizunos from him 😬

There’s a guy who plays at our course thst is pretty much the same specs as me.  Whenever I get a new set or irons in.  He always comes into my office and say.  “Let me see what my next set of clubs in two moths, look like”.   Ha

I have seen them. They look great. Ball speeds improved because they’ve gone to a nickel alloy in the chromoly that’s stronger…so thinner face. I think I heard like 8% more ball speed (robot testing of course). Forged and Tour models won’t be out until January. Hot Metal, HM Pro, and a new HL model will be available in October.

These fly high right? My stiff kbs tours launch high for me. Either kbs tours xs or $ taper s+. As for lie two up is fine. My new swing is a little shallow anyways.

I'm just hoping for a couple more lefty options.  Currently playing the 921 HM this year, and although I love em, I would have really liked to get into the HM Pro.  Sadly, it was HM or go all the way to the Tour, and unfortunately, my swing is just not consistent enough to be able to give up that much in forgiveness.

Was told HM,HM Pro and Forged in LH

For those searching for more info, I found a youtube video about the release.  It's about 20 mins long and can be translated to English from Japanese. 🙂

Thanks for the heads up. CC English is a little dicey, but good enough to get their drift. I know more about the JPX923 irons now, and I hadn't seen the S23 wedges at all until this vid.

I think you have aptly described most of us here 🙂

Just to add a bit to @Golfspy_CG2 post above, there are a several factors that can provide the golfer forgiveness... including where the weight is positioned around the club head (lower weight distribution to help the ball get up - especially for slower swing speeds, and/or with less of a negative AoA).  Another of the methods to help add forgiveness is the offset.  You could argue that more offset is for higher handicap players, and lower offset for better players - and is true to a certain extent... but that isn't absolute.  Personal preference also plays a role.  But in general, more offset helps the golfer square the club face from open, so golfers with fade/slice or push tendency would find more offset helpful in straightening out the shot shape.  It also improves the launch by moving the club center of gravity back further... helping the ball get up in the air.

I love the look of less offset personally, and I can better judge my club face "squareness" with less offset (or shape shots both directions easier)... which is why I love a blade.. (and don't get me started on the top line discussion ;)), and also why I chose my current gamers (they offered lower offset with a bit more GI aspects than a traditional blade or players club style).  Having said that,  I have also really enjoyed testing out some other higher offset irons recently - and more offset irons may find their way into my bag at some point (which is why I'm on this thread :)).

Anyway, as a reference point, here is a run down of the current Mizuno Irons with the offset shown on the right most chart.

image.png.103a4263c62900326f364dbfbbae1ae9.png

Now, let your nerdiness blossom 🙂

Really cool to see how mizuno was able to make a more forgiving iron such as the hot metal pro with significantly less offset. A better looking smaller game improvement iron. Still love the looks of the pro 225

The post was edited so not sure what was there before. Believe that is where the clubs will be shown when the embargo lifts. It's common for companies to update their website before a product is launched. All it really confirms is that the product exists--they're just putting in the website architecture basically. Would be a much bigger deal if the clubs were only rumored and there was no known embargo date (which does happen in other industries and creates a lot of hype).

I heard today that they will be releasing info here in 3-4 days.  Shops will get the heads and shafts the 23rd of sept.  If you order right away I think they will be here before november 1st.  They do make a 4 iron in the hmp.  🙂

The only thing holding me up from ordering the Hit Metal right now is. I want to see the Hot Metal HL in hand.  I typically don’t need or go for High Launch irons.  However, I bet Mizuno will do then a lot better than most companies save for Titleist with the T400.    So I’m expecting them to hide all that “weight” pretty well.

Shuokd be seeing them next week

It's sad but I'm just putting two and two together... 923's releasing on 9/23. Props to Mizuno for the cleverness.

Never crossed my mind if that makes you feel any better, but I don’t typically follow Mizuno releases so I wasn’t monitoring the date other than reading it in a few comments in this thread.

The JPX line has been so so good for so long...It made perfect sense to me that out-of-contract players would be playing the JPX 900's when they had free reign at any setup.

I am wondering how well they'll compete with the MP line now that the MP's are utilizing JPX tech in their irons.  Save some specific desire like offset or head shape, the 223 is as good an iron I've ever played.

Yeah, I can promise you that wasn't coincidental.  Just sucks that is the new makeup date for my surgery.  So I probably won't be catching up on all the feedback from the release until late that night or the next day 😞
