I'm someone who has never really used a range finder, but as arccos ended up dying on my android device and just not working and my "arccos iPhone" had a dead battery I certainly felt somewhat lost on the course... not to mention here we use Meters not Yards it throws quite a wrench into the game so I'm always on the lookout and enjoy seeing reviews on slightly more budget friendly rangefinders. Jamie, just curious why you're limiting yourself to rangefinders after using ARRCOS. If you're just looking for distance FMB a GPS watch could be another option. If you're looking for GPS and tracking, Shotscope gives you that capability plus on the V3  (my preference) or V4 you can use the GPS capabilities. I actually use both a LRF and V3. Both have advantages and limitations. As examples: the V3 can't give you distances adjusted for slope  - which might be important if your playing on hilly courses, a LRF on the other hand can't look around corners (doglegs) for specific distances. 

And if those are still budget busters, why not just use an app for your phone like iGolf or Golf logix, There are several apps that are free.  

p.s. I use both the V3 and the LRF because at our Ohio course they don't differentiate pin position with different colored flags.

Or you can be like me - I have the skycaddie LX-5 watch but still find comfort using a laser to give me a better picture of pin location, and arccos for stat tracking... it's a wonder I even play well for being so wired in, lol.
