GolfSpy TCB
Interestingly, I recently had a lengthy (and on-going) conversation about this with one of my golf buddies. He noticed I never take my glove off. I put it on when I get on the range, and only remove it if I need to use the "facilities". Then take it off and hang it on my bag as I'm walking off the 18th green. He told me I would be a better putter if I took it off. Ironically, before moving to Texas - I never wore a glove... so I guess the glove thing is new for me... but I honestly just don't think about it.. As I'm walking to the green, I am thinking about the undulation and the speed, and fixing my pitch mark if there is one... making sure I'm not stepping in the other's lines (or the extended lines past the hole), marking my ball, then starting my routine. It never occurs to me to take off my glove. As Forrest would say... sirchunksalot, tommc23, Tom the Golf Nut and 3 others 6 Quote Titleist TSR3 9* (A2 setting) Driver - Graphite Design Tour AD UB-5 R1 Titleist TSR2+ 3 Wood - Graphite Design Tour AD UB-5 R1 Srixon ZX 5W Callaway Paradym 4-PW Titleist Vokey SM9 50-08, 54-10 & 58-08 Scotty Cameron Super Select Newport 2.5 2023 Titleist ProV1

MaxEntropy
My glove comes off after every shot and stays off for short game and putting (bunker shots it goes back on, though). During this time of year it's a habit (though unnecessary), but during summer, it is to allow whatever fractional amount of drying that can happen while walking to the next shot. During peak heat/humidity, I normally have 2 or 3 gloves in rotation because my hands get pretty sweaty. GolfSpy BOS
Glove comes off for putting, and most of the time comes off for anything that's close to the green. JFish350
I take mine for putting almost always. Used to do this all the time when I lived in AZ to give a chance to dry out. Kind of a habit now. It living in the PNW I'll take it off if it’s raining or damp out more often to attempt to keep it dry. Loving here I always have a spare and when it’s too wet I go without a glove hoping the towels aren’t soaked either. When that happens, it’s clubhouse time. sirchunksalot
I've only recently started wearing a glove and will leave it on while putting. I think it has to do with the fact that I've played so long without one that if I take it off, it'll just stay in my pocket. Eventually I might get in the habit of removing it and putting it back on. GrahamB1967
When I am focusing properly I take my glove off after every shot (weather permitting). It was a tip from my first ever golf coach when I was about 12 and struggling with the mental side of the game as I improved physically and mechanically. Theory was, when the glove is on I am playing golf - looking at my lie, assessing my shot, picking a club and executing. When the glove is off, I am out in the countryside for a walk, chatting with friends and getting exercise - not fretting over my last shot, trying to work out where I will be to 'par' if I play a wonder shot out of the trees and salvage bogey or worrying that my opponent is out driving me when playing matchplay. Keeping the glove off when I reached the surrounds of the green was all about Jack..... Kenny B
I mostly never wore a glove my whole "career". For some reason I started wearing one this last spring. I put in at the 1st tee and took it off to putt/chip at the 1st green. Three holes later I remembered I had a glove in my pocket, so I said screw it. I don't think I could remember to take it off and put it on; don't really need it anyway unless I'm playing in humid/wet weather (rare), and then it stays on the entire round. AndySP
I don’t use a glove anymore, but when I did I only really used it for the driver and longer irons. JerryB
I generally putt with the glove off. TheCanadianBogeyman
I take mine off for putting. I don't think I would sink any less if I left it on, I just only have it on because of the grip on full swings, and I don't need that on a putter, so it feels weird to putt with it on.
