BIG APOLOGIES to everyone for the delay in updating the 

MGS FORUM CUP - Year to Date Points List

It has been a few weeks, and those of you still able to post rounds in the weekly events have climbed up the leaderboard - But the Golf Season is starting to take hold across the country, so rest assured the other Forum Members are gunning for you leaders  .

Riding the strength of his solid play and Long Drives, @Blueberry_Squishie is sitting on top of points list through Week 17.  Another of our long drivers in the group @snicerz is closely behind - just 40 points from the first place spot after 17 weeks of play.  

Seemingly wearing the MGS Forum VWCT Black Jacket every week - @Golf2Much is definitely within reach of the top spot - only 391 points behind the leader (another weekly win could move him into #1 spot).  

Rounding out the top 10 - @PeterHenric @fozcycle @daviddvm @Mr. Mushball @EasyPutter @tony@CIC and @vandyland (and yours truly sitting at #11  haha  ). 

Season 1 lasts through the month of March, so still plenty of time to post those weekly scores, and rack up some points on the SEASON 1 POINTS LIST!!!

The updates are in for the Season 1 MGS Forum Cup Points Race through Week 21!!

With the NARROWEST of margins... @Golf2Much has taken the top spots in points earned... 4458 total points so far this season, and only 231.25 points ahead of @snicerz who has been piling up his points through solid play and LONG drives.  Rounding out the top 5 are @Blueberry_Squishie, @fozcycle and @PeterHenric.  There is still time to tack on points... 6 weeks to go in Season 1... Post those scores!!

LOL That was posted on my birthday and I finally dropped below 10th place - no telling how I will do in 2023 on a new "home course"

@Golfspy_TCB another shoutout to you for what is a (largely) thankless job. Tabulating these numbers is very time consuming but I know we all greatly appreciate it. This has given me something to look forward to posting my rounds (even my last few rounds which have been disasters). I know I won't win but that was never the point. I feel like I am playing along with a lot of the other spies here and that is very cool as I don't really have a regular golf group here in town. Thanks to everyone who participated (and to the godfather @Golfspy_TCB for what was a good great idea) and made this so much fun.

Thanks so much Vandy.  I really appreciate your comments.  I am so happy to hear that you feel a little more connected to the other members through the virtual scores posting, that was the hope when we created it.  That comment right there is worth any time spent to tabulate all the numbers each week.  It has really been a joy    I pass that shout out back to everyone that participates each week.  obviously without all your support in forum posts, we wouldn't be able to continue it.  

I think we will see a big boost in the number of scores posted as we start rolling into the peak golf season... it should be VERY exciting .  Season 2 here we come!!!

It's been fun! Having a bigger, long-running competition to keep pushing myself for has been a big motivator. Especially during the winter months. It's easy to lose some momentum if I don't have some extra motivation behind getting out in the cold to play a few rounds.

@snicerz thanks!  It couldn't have been much closer!  I got lucky in that the Key West weather in the fall and winter is pretty good as compared with the rest of the country.  So it was more a win by attrition than total skill!

I hope we can team up again in the next two person tournament!

Thank you @Golfspy_TCB for the kind words and all you did to keep the tournament going over the last 27 weeks.  I will display the badge proudly!  As I said above, I got lucky that living here in Key West, our fall and winter weather are just about perfect when compared to the rest of the country.  So it was a win by attrition not necessarily skill!  Let's hope for no tropical storms or hurricanes this summer!

These last few days have been incredible!  This past weekend, forum ranking reached the 500 level.  Today I was selected as one of the four testers for first big review of the year:  Callaway Paradym irons.  Then later in the day I find out that won first MyGolfSpy Forum Cup!

You couldn't be closer to the truth!  Now that I'm retired, I play three times a week.  Last year I played 134 rounds with all but two at my home course of Key West Golf Club.

That's on Stock Island, right?  Pretty sure one of my best buddies Scott Baker and his wife Amy play there a good bit.  I've gotta get down there and play it!

Congrats @Golf2Much!  You know who your main competitor is now, @snicerz could have easily taken the lead with that close of a spread.  Third place was 1481.02 points from runner up, that's HUGE.  I feel honored to be in the top 10 with you all.

You are correct sir!  It's a classic Rees Jones course.  If you look at the scorecard, it's just over 6000 yards from the whites.  However, the scorecard doesn't reveal that there's water, mangroves and penalty areas on almost every hole.  The false fronts and small green size makes the approach shots and short game a challenge.  Throw in narrow fairways and it's a decent test.  Come on down and give it a try.

@Mr. Mushball you are correct!  Think about it:  38 points over 27 weeks is less than 1.5 points a week!   I was fortunate enough to play three times a week in one of the best weather places in the US between October and March.  The chance I get one good round in a week was pretty good considering weather this winter in the rest of the country.  Like I said...a war of attrition!   We both played well and just got one more slightly better round in over the last 27 weeks.  There's no doubt I expect to see @snicerz at the top of the leaderboard.  He's a great golfer!  That's why I hope we get to play together again in a next two person tournament.  He carried us last month!
