No way man, my entry is in.  I went and did a pretty heavy weight routine...I'm fried.

Which according to somebody on another thread, I shouldn't do that and I don't know how to train properly...  🙄

Won't get started on that...

Ditto for me (right now starting) although come 4pm here I might be recovered.

Put me down for 95 mph.  Happy to get that high at this point.  Have not stopped my strength training part of my training, so pleased to see that tick up.  My trainer expects me to be at the 98-100 mark by mid April.  I trust I will get there but just not before this is over.  Hope this can be started next off season to help keep me motivated.  Thanks for organizing this.

I got nothing else in me. I'm gassed, but it has been interesting to learn what works to create speed and what feels like should create speed that is nothing more than garbage effort.

I don’t have a check in, too much work and too tired this week, but I’m so psyched to see you guys killing it!!

So cool. Loved this challenge, should be every year.

Final check-in: 113, 113, 111.  Average 112.3

I think I had more in me somewhere but was too worn out from my round today to look for it.

Still, I feel like I really got a lot out of the Stack systems I did. Started at 100 mph and gained at least 12 mph. I definitely hit everything farther than I did when I started and I still have control. Before, I'd get lucky and smash a drive but there was no telling where it would end up - usually not in the fairway.

Just finished Neural Drive yesterday; I'll do my Progress Check Friday (if I can dig out of the snow we're supposed to get).

You see that’s my plan. I baited him in here when I’m really just starting my speed training now to be peaking for June. Worst part is he’s a nice guy so he’s giving me all these tips along the way which is only hurting his cause.

The Results are in .....

And the Winner is ........

@RichL85 with an impressive score of 42.17 winning by almost 2 full points and gaining almost 14 mph this off season, so bombs away next year, and would love to see how this affects your game.

Rounding out the podium @Vegan_Golfer_PNW in 2nd and @Getoffmylawn coming in with the bronze. Though we have no prizes for 2nd or 3rd so better luck next year guys.

Thanks everyone this was a fun time, helped me stay motivated, and for sure shared some great ideas here. Would love to hear how everyone plays with the added speed. And yes training starts for next year so @Getoffmylawn that dead-lift better just what you rep is you wanna make big moves again next year.

Here is the final leader-board for everyone to see who they might have beaten for bragging rights

So, in order, here is my first baseline, the progress check after my Foundations program, and the progress check today after completing Neural Driver:

IMG_0398.PNG

IMG_0399.jpg

So you can mark me down for a final total of 110, down 2mph from my last check-in.

Why was I slower in just about everything today? Likely a few factors. I had drifts of two+ feet of snow to clear from my driveway this morning. But the biggest one is that I was more diligent to follow The Stack protocols for this baseline. When speed training, I don't do a great job making a distinction between "Max" and "Full" effort swings (the former is all-out; the latter is the most aggressively you would realistically swing during a round). The Baseline/Progress check asks for Full, not Max, Intent.

What's my next move? I already checked-in for my next program, Full Speed Spectrum. And the biggest thing is that I'm going to start devoting more time to transference work. I have my driver here at the church now, and I'm going to start smashing foam balls with a radar (and likely some foot spray), to work on swinging faster while also needing to make reasonable contact with a ball.

Should also give Kirke's final check in. Here are his baseline/progress check numbers at the beginning, after his first program, and today with the completion of his second program:

Really nice overall progress from Kirke, who continues to have a higher swing speed (in mph) than weight (in lbs). Really solid work by him.

I've still got a bit of a mental block translating the gains into actually hitting a ball, but compared to October I'm seeing about a 6-8mph increase with irons and closer to 10mph increase with driver. More importantly, the snap hook is not plaguing me with driver at the moment. Contact wasn't terrible today either.

Love to hear it and many folks have seen that swinging faster actually helps with contact since you have to self-organize more efficiently, of course others hit it off the planet as they add speed, but glad right now contact is still good.

Need to get a final check in. Have to go to golftec. I really plateaued the last couple months. Maintained the high 130s with the Superspeed sticks. Got into the 140 territory with the Superspeed c stick. Been working out like normal. Probably need a coach to get more gains. Got gains early and then the last part didn’t improve that much. Interesting though!

Always fun to give it a try and see what comes out for you from a speed perspective. Though you started out pretty fast so gains are always harder at that level.

Thanks so much! It breathes some color into the bag. I will be more than happy to pass the trophy to next season's winner!

Anyone else seeing the fruits of their offseason labor?

I had a drive yesterday that reminded me of why I need to work on trusting my mechanics more on course. I came to No. 13 not playing particularly well and coming off three straight bogies to open the back. I won't lie, I was a little mentally checked out at that point and just decided to see how hard/far I could hit my drive. No. 13 sets up pretty well to my swing, there's not a lot of room left but leaving it right is bogey at worst. For whatever reason this hole is confidence inspiring and holds the honor of some of my longest drives at home. Not sure why - it's flat as flat can be, listed at 323 yards.

So, with my goal to hit the ball as hard as possible, I absolutely centered one up. The ball carried to the front part of the green, and ran out to the back fringe!

Led to a "stress free" par... 🙄

Still really nice to see. My mechanics have certainly gotten better, but I've had a handful of 300+ drives so far this season and good swings are now 280+ constantly. It does help that we've dried off a bit earlier than usual, but there is still lots of progress here!

Not much to say other than nice drive! I legitimately haven't gotten out to course as much as I've wanted due to work. It has been crazy busy for me. Having said that, for comparison, during my fitting back in September, my 7 iron swing speed was averaging around 82mph. Recently went out and hit through the bag to check gapping, and 7 iron is sitting right around 89-90mph with what feels like a much easier swing. I just haven't been able to get on the course to have ShotScope track the results for me, but I see it at the range where my 9 iron is carrying past the stake that used to be my 8 iron target.

That's awesome! Distance is such a huge advantage. Hopefully you can get out and play soon.
