I still love this shot since all three balls ended right smack in the center of the fairway... probably the only time that happened!

Did anyone hit the green from there? Lol - this is what happens with my buddies - everyone's all excited about their drive, and then only one of us hits it anywhere near the green.

Well this is the swingspeed challenge thread…. Not the scoring or accuracy thread so….

honestly, pretty sure Mark had the best approach. I think I was also on the green, but like 50 feet away. I think Mark birdied and got the last laugh. No photo evidence of that though.

Pretty terrible conditions to try to swing fast after we got drenched in rain yesterday for a surprise. There was quite a bit of sliding around with the feet but I still wanted to check in and see where things are at. The bad part is that I'm still not really seeing much in the way of top end speed increases yet. On the other hand, my "cruising speed" has gone from the 95-98 range to sitting around 105 comfortably. Once I get through more of the stability and strengthening programs, I hope to see some larger progress.

Speed training is kind of stuck this week.  I want to keep my Grit score at 100% but I’m not home and in my usual routine so it’s been a challenge.  Monday I did my workout in my in-laws unheated garage on a slick concrete floor when it was 12 degrees out.  Needless to say the speeds fell off.

Now, I’m at the Woodloch spa resort in the Poconos doing all the BS classes and spa stuff my wife wants to do.  Like wall yoga…

Me on the left. I know.  Happy wife happy life right?

Anyway, my Wednesday Stack session was carved out in a corner of my resort room where I spent most of the workout terrified I was going to smash something, which REALLY slowed me down.  Friday I can take it outside or maybe to a fitness room and hopefully get a good one in.  Either way that I kept swinging instead of taking a week off is a small victory.

I do the same with the Waking Up app.  The gong just felt a little over the top.

Almost 60* outside today so I took the opportunity to loosen up and get a speed session in.  I’m noticing a trend that the blue (medium) step-change swings seems to get me synced up and swinging faster. 
 

did a check in with my driver after and got to 109.7 average, so a little bump from my start. Not bad considering I haven’t gotten going yet between holidays, vacation, and illness!

good thing I wasn’t wearing golf shoes… grass was getting pretty torn up even though I tried to keep shifting around.

Been a frustrating few weeks honestly. I'm trying to remain patient waiting for a breakthrough in top end speed but right now both my top end and floor are kind of stalled out. I've been able to maintain 99 or 100 percent grit score on The Stack through the holidays, but a few of my sessions last week were frigid. I was hoping today's session in a warmer garage would be better, but I'm still stuck at around 103 MPH with the 195 gram stick no matter what I do.

It does seem like my speed is a little more reliable now, I felt like I made some really smooth swings on 6 irons today that registered around 98 MPH on my Mevo+, so that's been nice. My maximums are actually down 2-3 MPH across the board over the past few weeks which has also been a bummer. 

On the bright side, with the warmer temperatures my ball speeds ticked up during today's garage session and I'm seeing a lot more drivers with 170+ ball speed and for the first time ever I broke the 175 MPH ball speed barrier on one swing. Going to try to use that momentum heading into the new year.

January check in. Not much sleep but still checked anyways. Three straight swings of 114. I feel this may be where I top out for now as I am going into much higher weight lifts. We will see.

Probably didn't take enough break in between swings but a solid update regardless. Encouraging considering I took a 10 day hiatus due to a bug that zapped my energy.
