Man, you've got love how responsive Sasho MacKenzie is to his customers.  I almost feel bad for the guy trying to keep up.

Looks like I'm going to Heavy Hitter rather than Full Speed Spectrum next program.

Love hearing about everyone's progress this off season. So interesting to see how everyone is going about the training and the sharing of ideas around speed training.

Had me looking at Arccos data. I think I am going to be paying attention to this come season start so I filtered down to my last 100 shots with driver for distance and dispersion.

I will be curious if A) I gain distance/smart distance and B) Does dispersion/accuracy tighten up? (I had some of my best off the tee rounds when doing superspeed so curious about this)

I came back to check in on this thread to ask mostly the same thing.  Have any of you gotten out to play a round recently, and do you notice your distance to be farther than in November?

I know @snicerz has been playing in the WVGT and has had some of the longest drives this winter.  Have you noticed any improvement that you can attribute to speed training?

It's too late for me to get into this round of training.  By the time I get myself set up and a routine established it'll be over.  I'll be happy to join in on the next session!  Looks like people have had success!

its never too late to start. Start now and be ready for the season.

I haven't gotten out for a round yet. Maybe sometime in March when the sun comes up earlier. I have been trying to get to the range once a week to hit actual balls and I have been doing swing work at home. Combining technique and speed work and gym work is going to be a killer combo for me.

But now's the time to get out while your ball stops within a yard of your carry distance!  I usually get out once a week, even in winter.  But I prefer the PDP member rates at Glendoveer so play twilight hours.  Winter golf is somewhat treacherous.  I slipped and pulled my hamstring on one of the hills yesterday.  The weather hasn't been quite as tempered as the last two years.

Do you like the Max Speed system?

lol. yes. although take temperature and moisture into the equation and your carry distance wont really be your true carry distance. Last year i hit a line drive with my driver at Red tail. It plugged in the fairway even though it was a laser. I have learned winter golf means playing with gaiters on otherwise your feet get soaked!

Hamstring pull, ouch!

I do for the most part like it, although i worry sometimes it is a little too light. I did put my gamer grip on it and it has been much better.

After basically taking all of January off from the gym and the Stack, starting back up. First session wasn't too bad. For this round, the Stack system has decided to put me in Full Speed Spectrum. So far, it definitely feels like this program throws you into the meat of the workout on day 1. Hopefully, I can get some progress before 3/15.

I am in a similar spot, about 5 weeks left, so still some time to move the needle for sure.

Friday is my last day of level 4 SS protocols and then into 4 weeks maintenance mode before ramping up again ahead of the March 15 check in. Will see how things go. Level 4 I missed maybe 20% of my reps due to illness so hopefully I still got some benefit out.

If anyone is curious as to what “Cruiser” is all about in the Stack menu of programs, here’s a quick peek behind the curtain.

Cruiser is intended for those who can’t commit to a full-on training program for whatever reason, but want to maintain speed.  Each Cruiser workout it asks you what duration you want to do, including a recommendation for which one the app says you should do.  I’ve been following the app recommendations so far…the first two were 25-minute workouts of Full intent swings at varying weights, while todays was an 8 minute workout with 3 sets of 6 max swings at different weights.
I’ll get three more Cruiser’s in before I go on a vacation, then it’s time to dive in to Heavy Hitter!

Also, I know nothing about the actual workout, but the Stack just updated to add one more workout program, the Borgmeier!  It was developed along with Stack ambassador and pro Long Driver Martin Borgmeier…I really want to know more about how that program works!

No that does sound very interesting indeed and would love to hear that that consists of both for weights and volume.

For myself I did a check in today and gained ever so slightly to 109, but with the Fit For Golf workouts (both strength and mobility) plus starting to do more swings with the heavy stick today turned into quiet a fast day overall. Set new pbs on all sticks at 132 for green, 125 for blue, and 117 for red. With all hitting that speed of 1 mph below for multiple swings which was even more encouraging. I know probably just a bit of luck but I hope with the continued training things will continue to move up and translate to the driver. That will likely take some time but so far loving both adjustments to this off season training.

I know I didn’t get in on time, but I am just posting for my own tracking more than anything.

At the end of last season my average club speed was 117.3, with a high of 120, from my Ernest e14 launch monitor. I am using the spark speed trainer, or the Chinese Amazon version of it, because it was cheap. My check on January 6th had an average of 116.6 and a high of 120. My next check on January 12th has an average of 120.7 and a high of 124. I am trying to do something either fitness or speed training specific every day this winter, so we’ll see if I can gain a little something before the snow melts.

Anyone else see the new Bormeier program on the Stack? I saw it pop up yesterday. Curious how it is different from the other programs.

Talked with Mike Carroll on Twitter. Revamping my off-season work out since I am already at or exceeding the 1RM @edingc posted a while ago for my body weight. Still doing heavy weight but 2 less reps and trying to move as fast as possible. Might also mix some med ball throws in. Need to get my speed to tick up

Was 60* today so I got a good swing session in outside.

The grass maybe dormant but the sun and warmth got my swing loose.

30962562-6415-4B48-A420-0DEB2BCDF06D.jpeg

@ejgaudette my average today for a check in was 109.3.

Per usual, my fastest swings came when I wasn’t trying to swing hard, which is really difficult to do with speed training!

What a gorgeous day in MA. I played Brookside Club in Bourne MA today 64 and sunny. Course has beautiful views with Buzzards Bay in the distance on hole 1. Looks like I should be able to play a round in all 12 months of 2023!!!
