@ejgaudette any thoughts on how often you would like to have "check in" updates for the leaderboard?

Great question. I am thinking at least monthly would be good though I am sure I will be posting some updates more freuently. So share as often as you like.

That sounds good, a few 15th of the month check-ins?

Today I was 3 mph slower after my stack workout. I’m already angling for the biggest loser award, haha.

been trying to go out and swing on lunch to get loose.  Almost feel back where I normally am during a regular round.  I'll shoot to get my baseline test done this weekend!

This looks like fun.  Given a recent snow storm, that may limit real golf for a few days, will baseline in back yard and then Superspeed.

Touched 133 with my light weight stick today. Mind you this is also being sore from offseason lifting for the last 4 weeks. I can only imagine when March rolls around and i let everything recover I should be in pretty good shape. Nice graphic at the top. This will be fun!

So to give a small piece of info, I'm going to be working with a physical therapist nearby that specializes in sports performance and primarily golf. To start with, we went through the MyTPI assessment and used a K-vest to get all of the important pieces of my swing measured. It was not a good swing day for me, but it did show the areas where I need work.

The first couple of weeks are going to be mostly various stretches to increase general mobility, then moving into working on strengthening the necessary stabilizers for the golf swing. Finish up some overall specific strength training. The whole program is going to be 12 weeks, so my game will probably take a hit for the first few weeks until I can relearn to sync the swing up with the newer movement.

Sequencing my swing should give me a solid speed boost even without the other pieces, so it will be fun to see where I can get to.

Just stumbled on this thread. Perfect timing since I just started Stack and I’ve recently found my way back into the gym (last time I lifted was pre-Covid)

This is my baseline from 10/21

I'd like to join.  On 11/1 my driver speed was 118.

Not a fan of the calculation for rewarding the winner.  Someone with a 90 mph swing speed is going to have a much easier chance of hitting 99 mph (10% increase) than I will of getting up to 130 (also 10% increase).  But whatever, good to be part of the community of folks getting stronger.

I saw @GolfSpy MPR got a formula from Sasho that gives credit for the starting speed. I’m curious how much it would affect the rankings. I like the extra motivation no matter what the rules are.

Sasho’s formula:

0.4(starting speed) + 5(speed increase) = speed improvement score

No objection here, I think that's a great idea.  Let's pin that formula or rules on how the winner is determined to the top of the thread though so there's no missing that point.
